Feedback/observations for v3.9

I've started 2 games and reached day ~50 and in both of them the Empire is wrecking Sarleon with a monster ~3k marshal army.

I just done raise X amount of troops for a lord quest and he had the insolence to give me 1 denar....yes 1 denar
I know you do these quests for the repuatation but still, 1 denar

Another excellent update in my opinion, early game definitely got harder, but i don't mind it at all (Probably because i mainly play hardcore mainstream builds though). The scaling on quest rewards is really appreciated, i love the little elements you added in scenes like castles or taverns as well as the new items/looks on certain units/companions. Overall this update polishes the mod even more, i am yet to find a feature i don't really like in it, so thanks again to the dev team

I don't find the early game difficult at all, compared to some other mods. After all, it's fairly easy to raise money (arena, bandits, eventually tournaments) and I'm definitely seeing a lot of easy bandit parties (just lots of brigands with xbows/bows).

Is it just me, or do the bots chamberblock you a lot more in this mod? Arena fighters chamberblock me a silly amount, even multiple times in a row.

You have received 1denar - that was displayed in the on-screen log?

I still don't like diamonds.
I don't like that vanskerries have mounted units.
I like new zebra - lances.
I like new KO.
I dont like that old font is pre-installed.
I don't like that high lvl companions have **** instead of armor.
I don't like that our lords don't stash bigger garrisons like enemy lords do.
I like some weapons with new textures.
I like new textures of a food.
I trade with date fruits, i'm not sure that it is good for my buisness when soldiers start to eat them.
Inquisition is "OP" being in odds only with D'Shar lords.
I f*ing love new horse archer AI, i turned it on for all game units and it is freaking awesome and not OP as somebody dramatized.
I f*ing love nerf of bows accuracy.
Thanks for including my suggestion about "retired adventurer" instead of "retired noble adventurer" one.

It is overall good work done. I appreciate it.

Yeah, I should have taken a SS but wasn't thinking at the time, it displayed as the following

You got 1100 XP
You got 1 denar
You got 1100 experience

Its not a real issue, just weird

I don't like that vanskerries have mounted units.

Only some of the QAF have horses so its not so bad and they give decent XP

Most every battle I've had with advanced horse archer AI on has just had the enemy's horse archers run to the far side of the map and get stuck there

Thats one of the problems with the script, I seen it happen a lot in the TLD and the player can exploit it by setting up your army close to the edge of the map. The same happens with the normal AI but its not as prolific

I don't like how newly captured castles can just spawn massive garrisons out of thin air. Imo it does not make sense that freshly captured castles have more garrison troops than the the actual castles in the original territory of the factions. I liked the old system better where lords would just realistically reinforce their garrison over time.

It allowed for factions to steamroll way too easily. Besides each sides in my game are still able to take fiefs.

Fixed but it is actually Warband native bug - money reward is always 1 denar due to wrong syntax
is:
(val_mul, ":quest_gold_reward", ":quest_gold_reward", 7),
should be:
(val_mul, ":quest_gold_reward", 7),

Anyone else find rasmus a little too hard to get rid of? He seems to lock on to me from, and follow me for a far greater distance than any other large armies

seems like the weaker gem spawns got buffed pretty hard I just saw a 300+ strong almost fresh Oswald party and nope'd out. I was going to fight him with a 100ish party of mercs but yea...

Wait - I'm exhausted - it's the end of the day here so maybe I am missing something obvious about this change - also I haven't had a chance to play 3.9 much yet to experience it myself...but how does this change prevent steamrolling? Doesn't it give the attacking force additional advantage and prevent newly seized castles from being vulnerable to counterattack by the defenders as before?

It was done rather because: enemy is coming, player abandons city/castle, location is lost, enemy left 50 strong garrison, player takes poorly defended location back.

The AI is less likely than the player to be able to immediately rush and take back fiefs. As in, the player walks up and basically instantly ladders it back down.

Which is sort of an amusing way to mess with the AI factions, as their marshal has problems due to controversy from "losing" fiefs after taking them.

It can be even better if you're in an AI faction still, both sides end up having problems due to "losing" the same fief to the other repeatedly. Can be funny to extend the life of an otherwise dying faction by having them tread water on a few castles over and over.

This insta-garrison feature probably doesn't count for the player, does it?

Hell no!

I like the feature as at the very least it means more XP for me, some players where exploiting it(1 man garrisons) so its a good change.
I will miss the the targets of opportunity the old way created.

Very nice, I used to always let companions use this but now its all mine(stay alive wolfie), the speed is actually a bit of a benifit with the changes to shields as its easy to hit feet now with its dip.
It has a very low weight.
