I am tentatively in favor of passive eugenics. By this I mean seatbelts should not be mandated, those that are too stupid to protect themselves by such a small act could be allowed to die. Likewise, triple layered security around the lion’s cage to ensure someone cannot get in is silly. If someone reads a sign saying, "this lion can kill you" and then goes up to pet the lion, only to promptly die, I would applaud that person’s choice to remove himself from the gene-pool.

If it's natural to kill, how come men have to go into training to learn how?

That's just stupid, men don't need training to learn how they just need training to do it better.

I choose not to be a common man. Me, it's my right to be uncommon if I can. I'll seek opportunity, not security. I do not wish to be kept a citizen - humbled and dulled by having the state look after me. I want to take the calculated risk, to dream and to build, to fail and to succeed. I'll refuse to live from hand to mouth. I'll prefer the challenges of life the the guaranteed existence. The thrill of fulfillment to the stale calm of Utopia. I will never cower to any master or bend to any friend. It is my heritage to stand erect, proud and unafraid, to think and act for myself and face the world boldly and say, "this I have done."

At the same time, know that i do not wish to demean the Walloons as a people, they have their worth and are our state brothers

Hendrik Conscience

A Flemish writer who wrote the Flemish Lion about the battle of the golden spurs, in the foreword of his book he talks about the problems between the Flemish and the Walloons. During those days the French speaking Walloons politically and economically dominated the new nation Belgium. Laws where not official if they where not written in French, all verdicts where given in French, and it happened, that a Flemish man could be sentenced to death without ever having understood a single word during his entire trial. The officers in the army where French speaking and gave their order in French, ending with the French sentence: Et pour les Flamands, la même chose (and for the Flemish, the same thing)

Annyway, I think it's beautiful that this defender of the Flemish cause could find in his heart to call the Walloons "brothers" If he could here the Flemish whine today about the Walloons he'd turn in his grave.
