My favourite nation? Prussia. They had AWESOME uniforms at the time, and the Landwehr and Freikorps ideas were ingenius as well.
I also sympathise with britain, however, the one-and-the-same lobster red uniforms and alternative battle tactics and recruiting methods turn me off.

He just said his favourite nation was Prussia. Conscription and brutal discipline are right up his allay.
He said red coats, so he obviously meant the British Army, which did not conscript.
If you want to be completely technical, the Navy didn't impress people, either. Ships did, since ordinary seamen (which is what almost everyone impressed was) weren't part of the navy but rather they were employed by the ship.
