Favorite Fraction

My favorite faction so far is the Crimean Khanate because I love the theme of their soldiers and cities and the Turkish mercs are really awesome.  Oh and I like their armored muskets (the seymen), after starting to play other factions I realized how tough armored muskets really are in this game.

They can't shoot anything though and their stats are horrible.

Indeed, and your armored muskets wont be able to do anything againsts my rain of swedish bullets (<= thanks to your guide ) or my charge of polish hussars. If you want muskets, take jannisarys

Omg after writing this i finally ranked up from recruit to regular

If you want muskets get a Swedish Musketeer, rain insanely accurate bullets from the sky upon your enemies, and if they get to close a swarm of jabbing swords will drive them off.

Ment musketeer while playing as crimean Oh well, i should actually just shut up because all i'm saying right now is just what i learned from his faction guides

I agree the seymen do not hit well, thats why I hold until the enemy are closer and then volley fire.  The stats appear to suck but still do fine, and the Janissary compensate.  In situations like fort and castle defense seymen live much longer in my experience.

For a siege Musketeers snipe most of them by the time they get up, then pick them off. That's what I like doing anyway.

At siege i dont care who does what. I to stand on a ladder and hold my ground with mace and shield. Like this sieges are won (too bad there isnt just 1 ladder anymore which causes them to run around me

And dividing zero will screw everything up.

So true. Winged Hussars tended to divide by zero with their lances on Swedes, Cossacks, Muscovites, Turks etc and f*cked 'em up real good. "Life taker-heart breaker" style.

On the matter: does anyone know if dragoon style units make a good substitute for sieges as the attacking force? They seem to have overall better melee stats than the musketeer units, while still being decent shots.
Every time someone besieges a Swedish town, there are dozens and dozens of those, yet you can plow through them like if it's a bull dragging the plough (the dudes wear red shirts, oh wai-). Polish dragoons seem to be a better "jack of all trades" in this kind of warfare.

Well I actually stopped to compare the Swedish dragoons versus the Polish dragoons, and what I found was that the Swedes have better over all ranged/fire arm stats, and are better at shooting from horseback, while the Polish dragoons are not as good at ranged as the Swedes but have slightly better melee stats.

They kind of made the Swedes like the Swadians. Giving them a massive rich super army and some of the most powerful soldiers in the game.

Who says he wasn't thinking 'erection' instead of 'fraction'?

Anywho, even though I'm polish, I prefer the Swedes.

Wasn't it really horrible when you had an erection at school and the teacher asked you to come up to the chalkboard to solve something?

Since most of my in-game contacts with Sweden are locate target-eliminate with the most painful ways-let the lord go to bring more sheep to the slaughter-find new target, it's hard to bother finding swedish reiters to recruit. The polish reiters, even if they are not as buffed as the swedish ones, they are a perfect complement to the Commonwealth troop tree, so I don't need any better version to have my tactics work out.
I'm just somewhat curious of the effectiveness of dragoons (not reiters) in sieges, since the swedish ones who are more common to encounter get in real trouble when your men get them in the range of their melee weapons. So, I'd like to find out if an adequate tactic with polish dragoons instead is better, since they seem to hold their ground more effectively.
Since the Commonwealth's most powerfull troops are actually cavalry, it seems like an idea to use them more during offensive sieges, were everyone's on foot.

Also, since we talk about reiters:

The first two guys upfront are polish reiters. Don't  they look somewhat different in the game? I personally prefer this look.
