Number 3

Recruit
This is going to be about your favorite battle, please involve most detail as in your army (size and what it consists of ), oppisition, what it was you were attacking (as in town, castle or in feild) and why you like it so much,..

Mine is... I was recently imprisoned and lost my army, angry and needing of blood, i head to the nearest enemy village, me with a 2 handed axe (nord) i find a nice area behind a bridge, ready myself (already started the loot and burn) as fifty angry peasants with tools come raging at me, i swing with anger and blood craziness, taking out 2 at a time (with each swing) i soon then whittle away their numbers, with only 10 or so left, i start to run around a little toying with them, i soon kill them all, with great pride. (allies hurt/killed 0 enemy's hurt/killed 63). greatest battle of my life.

Thanks for reading Number 3

Have to be breaking the siege at Malayurg Castle. The Khergits and Vaegirs both declared war at the same time, and by the time I'd finished routing the initial Vaegir incursion and cross the map to deal with the Khergits they'd already launched their assault on the outpost of Malayurg. They were over 2,500 men strong. The castle held a garrison of 150, and an allied lord with another 100. I took my 150 and entered the fight, bringing the total defenders up to 400.

Being outnumbered better than 6 to 1, I knew we couldn't hold the wall, so after peppering the Khergits with crossbow fire I pulled everyone back to the courtyard as the siege tower neared the walls. From there it was a bloody back-and-forth as alternating reinforcement waves poured in, crossbowmen firing bolts into the mass of Khergits as the infantry and dismounted knights held them at the base of the stairs.

Eventually the force of numbers told, and I was struck down while fighting alongside the last crossbowmen in a desperate melee. But we had killed so many of the steppe riders that the autocalc determined the assault to have been repulsed after I was knocked unconscious.

Katrin patched me up, and the immense Khergit horde broke apart, scattering into multiple hundreds-strong battles with the allied lords I had rallied to the area. Many more tribesmen died over the next few days, and I even rescued the King himself (who was down to only himself conscious out of 120 surviving men, facing down 480 still-active Khergits. That rescue was a heck of a relations boost).

[Edit] Ooh, or maybe when I stormed the walls of Reyvadin. That's still my favourite city battle because it's the only one (save for a severely under-garrisoned Wercheg) that I took in a single assault, from walls to streets to keep. I nearly lost in the keep, but fortunately the Vaegir Veterans were utterly useless in their defense, and me and my 5hp came through just fine.

I remember one day I was heading over to Khergit territory to look for peasant women and clean up the bandits from Yalen.  I was heading through the north corridor because the southern is almost always empty, while not paying attention, I passed right by the opening in the mountains.  Now I should have been paying attention because the castles there seem to love being seiged, when I looked up I saw I ran into a Rhodok lord and figured no problem.  The next screen showed my 39 vs their 1207.  I think I went through 3 full rounds with only me and 7 companions at that time (battlesize at 100 because I didn't know of the battlesizer) it was a bit of luck, and I lost an expensive champion charger.  I think I took a big hit near the end of the 4th round and had just enough to come back for the 5th, after that I was just a massive plow with my shield up charging to stop my troops from being swarmed.

I was amazed I won, and really only a handful of dead, the companions took the damage.  I was rewarded with capturing six lords in one go, which is a nice bonus.

I would have to say these story's are great, but i see it's my turn again,

Recently, i decided it maybe nice to get friendly with my king (swadian) so i decided to agree to his quest, ( capture a lord), i soon the venture out into the land into nord territory, i see some of my fellow lords in desperate need of help (Allies 250 without me and Nord 500 not exact) i soon run in to help them with 70 men (50 cavalry, 20 archers) making our odds a little more attractive, after about 20 minutes of sending cavalry in and out, their numbers drop to 100 and ours only 50 down, we soon destroyed them, which of course i didn't realize intill i i over come my stunshock, I had a choice of 5 different lords, this making me get more renown, 4 lords for honour, and me completing my quest. It was really fun and i was overcome with joy.

Thanks for reading, Number 3.

Well, all I have is my 1 vs. 150 victory over vaegirs. When my horse got downed on a rogue spear (Native expansion spear bracing!), I had to avoid their infantry while I killed some horsemen. It sure was a close fight, though. I only had 9 HP left. The one thing I learned there is that you can never ignore your surroundings when traveling.

I had left my men to recover in the newly captured Yalen whilst I went out for a bit of hunting on my own around the northern Rhodok valley. I was a rebel but I had bought peace with everyone except the Khergits because they're just to damn fun not to fight, plus to get to me they had to cross through southern Rhodok teritory, weakening the for me a little. Anyways, I was off with my boardshield, spear and warbow happily slaughtering some bandits and looters when out of the blue I get hit by a Khergit warband. Luckily it was only about 80 or so, and I was in the mountainous area. I spawned on the summit of a mountain and I quickly reached the steepest point, but not to far from my baggae. The Khergits charged at me... through wooded terrain and up a steep cliff... I stood at the top and they came in ones and twos, where I quite happily aimed and shot the ones without shields and shot the horses from beneath those with shields. With the miracle of ragdoll physics I saw an entire herd of nomads fall down the hill onto their waiting comrades, who soon joined the pile at the bottom. I had to run back to the bagae every now and then to restock on arrows but thats the first time I singled a Khergit warband and only used a bow in a battle. Good fun!

I had my own kingdom we had 3 castles and a town, took them from the swardians, out of nowhere the Rhodoks declared war on us, 2 days later I saw one of their crusades (4 lords + king) going straight for our town, lucky I did find one of my 3 lords and told him I wanted to start a campaign and go to the town, 2 of them managed to get inside the walls, one of them was ambushed by the enemy group, it was 950 against his 130, a massacre in open field.

I was worried, my game was in realistic save all my work could be destroyed, finally the enemy besieged our castle, the battle was at night. before they started one more lord showed up, rouding around 1100 men, against 450 in the defenses, most of them not trained soldier, recruits and all low tier units, my company was the only one running most elite/high tier units.

My battle siezer was in 400, I knew we would face around 5 waves of enemies and we had to stand our ground, as the battle started quickly I ran into a higher wall told my archers to hold that position they started moving, some of them were stuck in middle of all infantry and had to fight as melee. The enemy swarm hit our wall like a tsunami, we managed to hold the first wave well, I burned all my arrows 60 arrows for around 40+ deaths, then I aproached one of the 3 ladders in melee for the 2nd wave, the 2nd wave most of them were elite unit and spear men, they broke trought our line, but thats exactly what I wanted. We were divided by 2 teams and them in the middle, giving our archers a clear sight for shooting, I ordered them to fire at will. It was a horrid sight, so many of them falling from the walls with arrows all over their bodies.

10 minutes later, the last wave was comming, and we had around 130 standing man, 70 or so of them were archers, that was the moment of victory or defeat, with only me and 5-10 infantry and all archery standing, we managed to finish the last survivors of the swarm, as I look around I saw the massacre, more than 1500 men laying in the walls and in the streets.

Defending Curaw after I captured it as a masterless warlord. I had around 500 units and the Vaegirs had 3815 units. The result was...

Me: 1 Nord archer wounded (He only got wounded because he fell off the wall and got surrounded. Idiot.
The enemy lost 3148 units the rest wounded. I captured the king and 1 lord. The other lords ran away.

The pike rules. The enemy didn't have the chance to set foot on the walls. The is full difficulty, battlesizer 1000. I told my units to hold position on the walls. Everytime their archers tried to shoot, the moment they pause my units impale them with arrows and bolts. Only a scattered amount of infantry managed to reach me, either me or my Bundak killed them. I gave Bundak a balanced bardige to help break shields.

A bandit fight in native expansion in one of my villages.

Somehow I had only taken a few horsemen with me as I finished the 'train the bandits' lunacy.

I ended up on a rocky top with 40 or so angry mountain bandits trying to get at me from all sides. Lasted about an hour and I got every last one and somehow avoided the fall of the cliff thing. Just epic!!!

i just had a big fight which i actually enjoyed against all odds.

take a look at this situation:

i joined the khergit factions since they send me the offer.
my and my man (i had 46/72 left) ran away from steppen bandits in khergit territory (mod: Native expansion)
we finally reached a castle against all odds. at this moment 2 steppen bandit party's where following me (48 and 46)
all the sudden my map showed i got surrounded by yet another 3 party of steppen bandits. (52, 47, 50)
i clicking on "request entry in the castle" all the sudden it showed "moving any close to the castle the guard tell you: 'you will get shot if moved any closer'".
looking at the banner of the castle i see that the owner of the castle is nobody less then my only khergit enemy "Imirza khan of the blue horde".
now i had no choice but to fight the bandits escaping was impossible.

the battle begins:
i ran towards the 2 bandit party's close by. and yet again (I'm always lucky) for some reason only those 2 party's are joining up to fight me.
i got into a unfair fight of 46 vs 94.

i commanded everyone to follow me and let the archers and infantry hugg the wall. i then let the cavalry follow me and stood some 100 meters away from my footunits and starting point.
the bandits clashed against my footunits thus hitting the wall at the footunits or some 50 meters away. i commanded my cavalry to charge spreading out and my infantry to charge as well leaving my archers stuck at the wall firing arrow after arrow.  my foot units took care of some bandits before they could turn around and run again. the cavalry then followed the steppen bandits across the field all my cavalry where on a 3 - 4 on 1 fight. i ordered my infantry to stand against the edge of the wield again and let my archers took 10 passes forwards. now it was my archers&cavalry vs the steppen bandits. my cavalry was almost finished when the second enemy wave came in. they forced my to go back to the edge of the field dismounting my horse and using it as a shield.

added the second wave there were only 26 steppen bandits left. i told my archers to go back to the edge of the wall and my infantry to advance 10 passes. the bandits clashed into us again and we killed them shortly after that. we only had 17 units left after the fight.

after the fight we ran away as quick as we can. i noticed Imirza khan leaving the castle right before he ran out of line of sight. shortly after that i received a message "Imirza khan of the blue horde got defeated in battle but managed to escape"

he-he.

I was in service of thr Rhodoks and i recaptured Grunwaldr Castle and the king gave it to me (woohoo) I had a garrison of 150 Rhodok Sharpshooters (and nothing else ) full battlesizer and the enemy were vaegirs. Since vaegirs are too lame to use their shields, they all got shot down by my far superior sharpshooters.. i saw them FALLING from that ladder, the pile of dead vaegirs was becoming bigger and bigger.

Lost 5 Sharpshooters due to their archers xD

Right after that, i left my castle, and i got ambushed by 500 vaegirs

145 sharpshooters vs 500 worthless troops xD

Their first charge of knights PHAILED and the knights who were able to reach it (weither on foot or mounted) were cut in pieces
Then they came en masse and i wasn't able to resist, my men fought with great fury and my men fell unconcious or died with honor. Then it was time for the last wave: 1 vs 70 -_-'
I charged my spirited hunter, readied my masterwork light crossbow and i drew my sword of war... heh they scattered and became an easy prey for my fury... my horse downed and crippled, i slaughtered the rest of them and took 2 lords + their king

my losses? 83 sharps dead and 62 wounded ><
