skiylaroso's advice is quite reasonable, he must know lots of Chinese materials.
this Dynasty in Chinese history is cool (also DW helps get me interested too )

Please dont make Lu Bu some killing machine, although he was a very strong man, i think i read somewhere that they thought he was some kind of demon, also please dont make him a Companion..he was an Officer for Dong Zhuo, and i hope that it will stay that way.

Also another idea of mine, they all start off with very small amounts of officers, instead of 20 officers at the start of the game, you should try to make it so

Liu Bei has his Sworn Brothers (Guan Yu, Zhang Fei)
Sun Jian, has his sons? i dont know if they are old enough to fight but you could do that
Cao Cao, should have Xiahou Dun and Cao Ren?
just an example, but then it increases as time goes on..

For

(Nanman)
it's Meng Huo, Zhu Rong, and possible little brother Meng You

(Yuan Shao)
Yuan Shao, and these possible officers

Yan Liang
Wen Chou
Shen Pei
Guo Tu
Xin Ping
Xin Pi
Yuan Shang
Yuan Xi
Yuan Tan

I don't know how you could have Yuan Shao and Shu at the same time. Liu Bei hadn't claimed the south-west (Shu) yet and his territory was very small, just Xiao Pei and Xia Pei, I think.

Do you know around what year the mod will be set, mastaninja? That will play an enormous role in the strength of the factions and the like.

Anyway, good lucks.

No, there is a faction that you named yourself after, possibly. Cao Cao would have the Xiahou brothers after the yellow turban rebellion and the Nanman had like a couple of scrolls devoted to them.

The warriors of Shu fought with Yuan Shao againest Dong Zhuo (one of the earliest chapters after the red/yellow turban rebellion), so I think Shu was around when Yuan Shao was.

Still I think that the heroes should be powerful enough to take on a lot of men at the same time. Considering that was a HUGE part of the story. It was a story based on history. It wasn't totally a true story. So the thing is, are you using history for your mod setting or the historical novel based on this period in history.

I think Lu Bu should be a vassal under Dong Zhuo

Dong Zhuos faction wont be in it although if ppl want i could add in people who were historically dead.

I don't know if you were talking to me, but I'll assume you were.

Liu Bei did fight with Yuan Shao against Dong Zhuo and against Cao Cao. But he hadn't fully established his kingdom yet, and hadn't taken control of the land of Shu.

Personally, I think it would be based around the three kingdoms in 213. That was before the invasion of Jing and all of the three main rulers were still alive. But obviously go with whatever you want. Or perhaps a poll on the time it should be set?

The weapons might be a challenge, depending if you use the ones from the game.
If they do  213ad There wouldn't be a Lu Bu since he was executed in like 198 AD at Xia Pi and obviously they want him in the game.

He said he was basing it off the books.

I know, but I was saying that you can't have Lu Bu and a powerful Shu force at the same time unless it isn't going to be completely accurate. The only place Lu Bu ever captured on his own was Xia Pi, which he stole from Liu Bei. So both of their territories would be too small to make them large factions (assuming that this mod will take place in all of China, and not just one part). If it is only Northern China, which is where most of this was going on, then Wu will be left out of all of the fun.

If Lu Bu is included then you will not be able to do both.

OK first of all its set around 216ad forces include namman wei wu shu
All forces have a large part in the land.
Although historically dead lu bu will roam the land with some soldiers roughly 300 he will attack cities and villages and he will be enemies of everyone but you can join him I'm not sure how I'm going to do this maybe a duel.
I am basing what the characters look like and what weapons they have on dynasty warriors 6. This means that Guan yu will have blue dragon for example. But characters that have weapons such as Dian Wei who has an iron ball will be given the axe he has in dw5. Questions answered?

And no the mod wont be completely accurate

...Yeah. I never actually got to finishing the book in english, and I'm an utter fail in chinese.  Maybe one day when I get a paper copy. So, yeah. Just dropping in to tell you guys that I'm going to stay updated on this. I'm willing to help but I have no idea what I'm going/what I can to help with, since so far I'm not very good at modelling and I somehow doubt you'd want a writer for something which already has a novel dedicated to it. Ohohoho. Well, anyhow, quick question - how much of China are you going to include? (The China of that era was much bigger than it is today.)
