Faster infantry?

Hello, I've got a question to ask. I was wondering if there's any way to make all the infantry in the game faster? A line of code somewhere, or a program, that could add +5 athletics to everyone, or something like that? I think it would be nice for the enemy (and your own) infantry to come chargin', instead of wading slowly towards the enemy. It would be such a rush to hold position, showering the enemy with arrows from atop your hill, and when they get close, yell "Infantry! Chaaaarge!" and then break formation and run (not walk, run faaast) towards them, like the Orcs in the first battle in the first LotR movie.

Is there any easy way to do it?

And what do you think?

If this has been mentioned before, I'm sorry, couldn't find it.

I think they are fast enough as it is, giving the armor constraints and comparing them to horses.
 
Hm, perhaps you're right. I'd just love the whole chargy, armor-clankiness that is running roaring towards the enemy. The "shield raised while wading towards them, roaring" thing just doesn't do it for me.
 
They really really need that sprint option everyone's been voting for in the Privy Council. T'would solve all our problems.

Copy your native folder and extract that into the new folder, it will give everyone 5 athletics to start with. No idea how fun it will be if it will but it's what you suggested :razz:
 
I did, took less than 2 minutes :razz: Just added athletics 5 to the list of common skills. Should affect most if not all units.
 
You could also try the Expanded Gameplay II mod.
It has:
"Three new combat abilities - Rage, Sprint, Combat Focus."

I've only been playing it shortly and have yet to figure out how the sprint function actually works  :neutral:
 
Faster troops would honestly be very nice. Even if they have to have some exhaustion quotient because of their armor.

for sprint you need to have at least 14 agility, then just press K in battle.

all infantry runs faster in EGII, I like it much better that way too, and more realistic in my opinion.

Not generally no. I agree with the above that they would have a tough time getting around with all their equipment, however! I would love to see a sprint/charge added to the game so that as your line of troops nears theirs, they do sprint much faster than normal screaming as they cross blades with faces.
 
That's exactly what I meant, and the only way to implement that now is to give them athletics, methinks.
 
I think a sprint button would be nice. But for a very short period. As possibly, if charging into someone you knock them over. But do no damage.
