Fast Map Travel - The Key to Happiness

While traveling on the map, hold ctrl+space to make time pass MUCH faster.


After reading around it seems that quite a few people still don't know about fast map travel.  This should be something that every new player learns right away- its almost as important as using WASD to move  . 

I assume this is posted somewhere in the "Useful tips for players" thread, but this tip should really be somewhere where all players can easily see it.  It instantly gets rid of one of the most annoying parts of the game and makes the experience 10 times more enjoyable. 

If you've never tried this before and have been spending your days going gray as your party treks from Crimea to Novgorod, prepare to have your mind blown.  Control + Space, my friends: the key to happiness.

Wouldn't have helped way "back in the day"...I'm fairly certain it was added with Warband. Or at least I've never been able to get it to work on vanilla M&B.

Certainly, if you want to cheat.

But as CTRL-Space speeds up time for the whole map, and you don't need cheats enabled for the key-combo to work, it isn't a cheat.

A lot of us prefer not to cheat.  It can be fun when you're just screwing around but if I use cheats on my main campaign I lose interest fast.  I just keep them turned off so there's no temptation  .

Ctrl Space is also a good way to get into mucho problemo aka get caught by enemy army.

Oh, but it still would have helped in Warband.

Ye did that do until i tried to sneak into a town without being able to find the last guy so i had to surrender.
And another time the Crims attacked me without sweden even being at war with them and i had 0 in relation with them, and they attacked my little force of 40 light cav.

they added the ctrl+space feature in warband  and yes, i too am playing M&B since its beginning 0.806

You use WSAD to move? that's why I lose every fight...

But on a more serious note I like mowing down all bandits/enemies on my way to locations so I don't think fast map travel would be good for me.

The feature I would most like though is an auto buy food option, it's getting old really fast having to check your food supply every 2 seconds, that would be my key to happiness...

'cause the manuals are terrible and don't include half of what goes on in game? (For instance, you may have noted that the WFaS manual describes battle as if it were original M&B, while it functions like Warband.) Oh, and because CTRL-T is a cheat and most game manuals don't explicitly publish their cheats?

meh ctrl clicking is cheating.
I sometimes use it to avoid certain doom tho. Game has to stay fun to play.
