(was searching the forum for this, i swear!)

the peasants ain't doing a lot on the map aside talking ****. But they really got good potential: they could

- own farms
- buy your slaves (as farmhands)
- mass to a threat around farmlands - 150 peasants attack meee:wink:
- offer to enlist in your army

and you, in turn, could:

- demand taxes (or food)
- loot their farms (title: peasantslayer.. ye, was discussed)
- protect them

in any case, i feel kinda bad, when you help people out and you see no result. Like, when peasants make prisoners, they will certainely take them to the farms... which increases the farm-output (oh well, this may be too much, but i guess it's better than "i m just a lousy peasant.."-msgboxes and you can't even kill them )

this suggestion has imho a nice quest potential too, and it isn't that hard to code.

Additionally, this makes a few more hotspots other than the towns  Then, it opens up the possibility of yet another landtype to do battle on (grain fields or whatever)

--> atmosphere++

what you think?

PS: no, i m not ungrateful to what the developers did so far, actually, this game entertains me like no one before (and i used to play a lot)

EDIT: collected ideas to this Suggestion

- let farmers stop and make them "farming" instead of "patrolling" for the sake of atmosphere  thanks Ryuka
- overtake/buy farms ... Raz

mm i felt, this one would be different.. and more precise in WHAT to add to the flavour

still, thanks for advising me to behave.. though i was even using the search function.. guess this forum is too big for me  i will shutup and observe what's going on

I like it too. And welcome to forum, Madras.

Even just simply make farmers stop in one location and put the lavel 'farming' instead of 'patrolling' makes game more real.

Nice, no comments on that. If implemented at least we would'v had a highre goal than just creating an army. I'd love to spend hours and hours saving money to buy a farm, or some other kind of higher goal.

This is excellent expansion of my idea for functional farms etc.

But remember there really was almost no free peasants at that period but serfs which owned almost nothing so peasants would need to join rulers army on campaigns (for free) and give big part of what they produce to ruler.

Slaves would be bought by landowner or local ruler, I don't recall average peasant owning a slave.

Sounds harsh but this way we can have peasant revolts against cruel ruler with some military units joining them (to save there own skin in front of peasant masses).

Few free peasants were mostly former soldiers which received land for there service to the king so we could have king reward player with some land and expand it to have his own serfs.

i know that Ivan  still, i see no problem in peasants roaming the country bringing slaves to their boss. just put another npc @ the local farm who buys your POWs  no coding work.

and i know it would be a further step towards glory to have the farms show their number of slaves, thus increasing their monetary output the owner gains, thus increasing the mercenary defenses whatsoever...

but i m realistic... so i thought, basically this would not be too much of a revolution, which is a good thing, since too much of a revolution means idea bye, bye

This is a great idea but i do feel that it's already covered in my original post(page 2 mainly).. but it is good to see multiple topics of the same thing i want(to me anyways) it shows that people must really want it... could you vote on my post as well anyways hehe... i did yours, hopefully armagan and others will see that there is a big want for this, as i have been waiting ever since i got into games to have an offline rpg that has this.

keep the posts comin.

I like the idea,

You could also buy food, horses and other stuff from the farms.Owning a farm would add a lot more economics to the game, very cool.
