Fairly High Ping?

I have found that I am hitting people with my lance and it does no damage.. I think this is do to the lag that I'm getting. When I play offline I hit a lot more often. My ping is usually around 250-500. Is there anyway to lower it?

Just sort your server list by ping, and choose a server close to the top of the list.

Well.. Almost every single server is around that ping. I usually sort it by ping and the lowest i get is around 239. Also It only shows like 10 servers at a time.

Did you try pressing "start search" again? And waiting for it to search properly?

Might help if you tell us where you live - no matter where you are the majority of servers will give you a high ping, but unless you live in antarctica you probably have at least a couple with less than 100.

I do press start search and barely and servers are there. I live in Utah.

thats your problem. Your wireless network is probably stretched too thin/outdated. There are plenty of low ping servers in the US

and the ping readings on the server list is not accurate, sometimes it reads higher as it should be, try joining the server to see.

Pings of up to 300 are game to me on servers.  You'll usually end up with something in 20-80 ping in the server.

If you're ping is 200 or more, you'll be in trouble.  I've managed to get about 25 kills to 16 deaths on a Duel Server with 120 ping (but this was after it got overrun by griefers.)

How do I fix it though? I've tried making my own dedicated server but that isn't working for me since I can't find what I'm doing wrong.. Although after playing on a server for awhile I can adapt to the lag and figure out when to swing my sword so it will hit the enemy but it generally gets annoying..

Try getting a non-wireless connection set up.

I have the same problem, to a lesser degree.  I switched to DSL for the savings, and it just sucks compared to cable.  The Mountain time zone is also not particularly great for finding servers.  I live in Montana and the best I can get is 100-150 to any server (actual in game read out, not server list...server lists are all 180+)
