i didnt mean your character i meant you

THAT is why I posted the thread....because I can't "git gud" without fixing the problem.

Intelligent people learn from their mistakes, brilliant people learn from other people's mistakes, and true geniuses don't make mistakes.  I may be bright, but I'm not a genius, which is why I'm asking.

out of curiosity, do you tend to play in 1st or 3rd person mode? I've always found 1st person is easier to fight in (although it does make it harder to see what's going on in the battle overall).

I'm certain Orion was right: You just aren't adjusting to Warband's unlocked cav swings. This was a big problem for original M&B players in the warband beta.

In original M&B, your swing animations were locked no matter where you turn the camera. In Warband, your character will always try to face the camera direction, regardless of the direction your horse is going. Did you change any controls etc?

Maybe you have some kind of mouse problem - at this point we would need a video to help you any further.

just play a lot on horseback in warband and you'll figure it out... it's probably just the muscle memory from the original mount & blade screwing you over

You have to keep the camera on the side that you want to swing, even if it is only by 5 degrees or so from the horses head. By keeping the camera in the center you're getting this erratic switching. It's more intuitive, not less intuitive.
