Factions declare war too easily and without logic

I'm doing a playthrough right now with my own faction, which I started off my conquering the khuzaits.

Once I had taken over the khuzaits I had planned to build my economy and grow my settlements without any war. But a few hours later EVERY SINGLE FACTION has declared war on me.

Why??? Some of them are at the very opposite side of the map. The only ones I have done anything to are the southern empire.

The AI needs to chill out. Because being it war withe everyone at once is just going to ruin my experience - yes it's a harder challenge but it forces me to destroy everyone ASAP, which shortens the game for me.

What's your thoughts on this?

yeah I agree, I think a lot of people agree, there needs to be some rhyme or reason for war. right now I think its just due to a diplomacy system that isn't fleshed out, and is rather operating off of a stand in where people declare war almost randomly or maybe based on power dynamics.

I guess it depends on how quickly your threat level raised?

Having said that, I did get wardec'd by the Nord's when they only had 3 cities left, despite the fact that my settlements are on the other side of the map and they were at war with 2 other nations... so yeah. I'm guessing the AI needs some work.

For some reason this makes me giggle. I just picture all the other factions, beaten, scuffed, bruised, beleaguered, finally had enough of you beating up all their lords, and then you say "You're ruining my experience guys"

I think Warband also had that, it was exceptionally difficult to start your own Kingdom if you were not prepared as you're now a threat to EVERYONE. Nothing unites people like a common enemy.

That's how I played warband; I would take one of the Nord's castles right in the corner of their lands near Tihr, so I could force a fight on my terms. Then I'd slowly start taking castles/towns, actively looking for any recently sieged castles from other warring factions to pounce on.

But yeah, it usually ended with everyone hating me because I didn't level up my "right to rule" score. >_>
