Faction theme song?

So I was browsing a certain imageboard, and I saw a picture that depicted a failed relationship in MSpaint. The ending was quite humorous, and found out that it was based on a song by Manowar, called Sons of Odin.

This seemed to suit the Nords, so I thought "Hmm. I wonder what other players think what kind of music suits a faction.", and here it is. Youtube links would be good too. NO RICKROLLS.

Good idea, I'm sick of the M&B songs already, I just play mute unless it's an important battle. Are there any good songs modded to the game?

I'm currently trying out the music pack found here:
http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,35722.0.html

So far, it's pretty good, though I still prefer putting on various of my own soundtracks in the background.

Yeah, thanks for that, after I posted I've done searching and I came up with Cries of War too. Watch the later posts on that thread, there's some guy who ported the War of Cries (sounpack only, not the music) to .0960. As for the musics, I've found musics done by a guy who also made Vocals Soundpack (which I'm not using at the moment):

Some music for your modding pleasure

Now I've got Fei Dao's Rhodok's little boost, Warcries soundpack, rejenorst's musics and Hardcore's Testmod 0.960b.

Note that the musics are in .mp3 and you need to put them in your main music folder (there is also a music folder in the native folder but I don't think you need to put it there) and then go into your native folder and edit (make a backup copy of it) music.txt so the game loads up those new musics. As for the Cries of War soundpack, it cames with a Sound folder and a Sound.txt. Just overwrite it in your natives folder.

I just love when this track is played while I'm in battle.

Thanks for the suggestion, I like it too, I'm going to put this in-game.

Someone should make a soundtrack for each faction, would be awesome.

BTW i have a custom soundtrack and i installed it by replacing all the tracks in the music section, and giving the same name to the music that matches.  So battle music plays in battle kind of thing.  Why does everyone else seem to do it a more complex way?  Only thing is you can only have the same amount of tracks (eight i think).

Hmm... I'd love to have various different music for the different peoples. Easily enough accomplished by switching music.txt files, but i can't really find any suitable music... I don't think metal fits at all, i'd love something like old folk songs or just medieval-style music.

You can have more than eight tracks. Search around the forum and you'll begin to understand how to better mod the music. Since I'm such a nice guy I'll tell what you need to get rolling.

In the vanilla version, the game has 8 songs, that's why in the music.txt there's the number 8. You can put additional musics to your game by placing them in the music folder and then going on into the natives folder, opening and editing music.txt and placing a number that corresponds to the total number of the songs you want played.

The songs must have no spaces. Several people have reported that there are other formats that work besides mp3, which ones I don't know, so I just stick to mp3. Also, I remember I've read somewhere there was a limit of 25 songs, but I've not tested this. Even if it's true, 25 is plenty for me.

In the music.txt, the numbers in front of the music name which are 1, 2, or 3, represent the following.

1 - It will be played on the map, towns, villages and castles.
2 - It will be played in battle
3 - It will be played in both

Dan, you have just made my day. Battles are much more intense now with the right kind of music. You have my gratitude.

There isn't a limit of 25 songs. I have 48 songs coded in and they all work.

EDIT: In the newest module system there is also a command called music_set_culture. If this allows you to assign music types to a team then it certainly is a good addition.
