Hi all. Situation is this, I'm currently a vasalle of the Vaegir and would sooner or later declare my independence. Now, the Vaegir are currently at war the the Rhodoks, of whom I became to fear the Arabelest troops, which I would love to command myself. Now as you can imagine I have very bad relations with the Rhodoks because of the war and my aktive participation in it. Saved my kings budd a few times  :mrgreen:
So in order to recruit Rohdok troops in the future I thought this might be possible:

I capture a Rohdok castle/town, my king refuses my request to keep it, so I can declare independence? Will my new kingdom now have the Rohdok troop tree as I captured the castle/town of them when I declared independence? What determins which troop trees I can train in my castles as independent kindom or hire in my towns?
Thanks!

Nothing at all; simply who originally owned it.
If you captured Yalen (Rhodok) then you'd recruit Rhodoks from it's villages and Elders from Yalen itself. But if you then captured Suno at the same time, you'd recruit Swadians from it's villages and Pages from Suno. But never Swadians at Yalen or Rhodoks at Suno. Mercenaries are completely unaffected.
There is no custom troop feature at the moment, although i'm hoping one's implemented.
Hope this clears things up.

Also, there's nothing to stop you hiring conscripts from Rhodok villages and training your own Arbalestiers. You could even do the village quests so you can get better numbers of conscripts. I used to hate the Rhodoks, but I totally love those guys now. I took over most of Rhodokia so I could have my own supply of Arbalestiers.

Thanks guys for the answeres, just one clarification. From the troop tree description and the special features listing of the mod, I can see that elite units (such as the elite arabelestier) can only be recruited from special buildings. Are those the buildings that the special featute listing describes as the limitetd two special buildings in a town, where one you receive at once when capturing a town and you can build only one additional special building in another town? How can I make sure that my first Rohdok town I capture and keep will have the buiding for Elite Arabelestiers?

Every special building can be build two times in the whole game. A 'Cathedral' for example can only be build in cities belonging to the Swadian culture (Praven, Suno etc). The other special buildings work the same way.
Every 'capital' already has this building (Praven, Sargoth and the ones from the Khergits and Rhodoks that I can't seem to remember). Thus you can only build one more of each.
Oh and you can only recruit from this building if you're the owner of the city.

Capital Towns (equipped with built-in Special Elite Building)
Khergit = Tulga
Rhodok = Jelkala
Vaegir = Reyvadin
Und natürlich:
Swadian = Praven
Nords = Sargoth

I thought the Rhodok capital was Veluca

As awesome as it looks...no, it isn't (sadly.) Jelkala is.

:smile: Veluca is described as a 'paradise' in the words of one of the companions, but the 'Native' Castle was very small and dark.
That's why we tried (in the NE siege & scene add-on) to give the Lord's Hall the feel of majesty and greatness that it was lacking.

Yeah. There's not enough effort to actually put some depth to the places and cultures and such of Calradia. It was good to see.
The lord's hall looks immense...I always took Veluca first, and later, in my Roleplays made it my summer resort (with Praven being the capital.) It's an awesome place :smile:
