In Progress Faction Change when ruler deceased?

Was playing as a vassal of the Southern Empire. Rhagaea died (old age). I was elected new ruler. When I looked at the holdings of Pethros (Rhagaea's clan) They now showed the color of the Northern Empire. Note that they still showed as part of the Southern Empire, but the colors suggested Northern Empire. I restarted the game and the colors corrected themselves to Northern Empire, so this becomes a minor issue instead of major. But wanted to post it anyways.
