Looks like a rip off of Anarchy Online.

Is it just your bog standard target people, hit hotkeys until they die sort of thing?

Because I dislike those immeasurably.

Nope, aiming is skill based and the quests are all generated by High ranked players.

Oh well, may as well give it a bash, not doing much else at the moment.

Client should be downloaded in just under 10 minutes (If only they had put a torrent link on their site, at least Gamershell gets fairly decent download speeds).

Well, I'm glad we've explored the unique feel our human senses get from this game.

Not only it sounds like ****, it looks like **** too.

Well I am willing to try ANYTHING once.

Anything I should do in particular when I get into the game?

Ah Vadermath, you are indeed a man of strong convictions!

Worry not, for I intend to post a short review after I get to grips with the game.

Gothic, would there be any chance of perhaps getting involved in whatever group you belong to?

It would ease my transition into a spot where I could attain a fair viewpoint of the game itself.

Groups just form up, go to groups under your menu and see which are inviting and join it.

I just finished with an FDC combat group in Tokyo. Besides from nearly getting me to my promotion and over 20,000 credits, it was pretty fun. I also enjoy roleplaying.

Yeah, was in Tokyo myself.

Name of Jeffrey Dahmer.

I would say that it is rather fun to play, kind of like a tactical version of planetside, but the learning curve is a tad steep when you first start.

For a free game I am not complaining, and there are tons of opportunity's to grief as well.

Oh yeah, huge learning curve. And griefers are a dime a dozen.

Other than that though, I do like it for the most part.

Yeah, join the FDC so you don't get slaughtered while we are warring with the BoS in Tokyo. We just had around 30-50 men there. Most of the time, I'm on Yukon so I don't see many griefers.

More pictures.
I think we were assembling to hit the BoS the first time( We got destroyed).

This was a firing line on the second attempt to pacify the BoS(We won).

Oh yea, the training we do in Yukon and the tournaments are all good roleplay.

I'm downloading now, what's the deal on the game? Doesn't say much on the site. Levels or anything, and what's the FDC? I'm guessing it's a clan of some sort, but meh, I just need a few questions answered before I get to playing.

Edit: Just saw.

It was fairly balanced from what I saw, I was killing brotherhood people almost as soon as I had bought some Weapons and Armour.

Get yourself in a group when you first start and people will help you along, be warned though, death means losing all your items, and death can come swiftly and without warning if you are not careful.

FDC is one of the factions you can join in the game, pretty much colonial marine sorts.

Once you start you can have a quick run through of the tuturial video (Was pretty in depth) or you can just decide who you want to join when you get into the game (Which can also be switched after your initial choice if you buy an apartment).

Do you lose everything when you die? So far I've only lost what it's in my inventory, not what I have equipped. Although I'm still a trainee (only 700 xp until I'm actually a member of the FDC.)

Now that my mental capacity is less similar to that of a 9 year old with down syndrome(and the thread reminding me) I decided to give it another shot and I'll admit, it was very fun making a firing line 40 men large and firing at any reds coming, then patrolling in groups of 11, finding some reds who surround me while the rest of the squad runs off abandoning me.

FDC - Be all you can be. Dead.

Also, I got shouted at by my superior officers 30 minutes after joining the FDC. This is a better simulation of soldiery than Operation Flashpoint.
