I'm playing warband on a fairly powerful computer:
E8500 @3.8GHz
4GB ddr2 @1.066GHz
GTX280 1GB
Win 7 Ultimate

Game plays at high framerates even in battles with 500+ people. However, in certin battles, even arena tournaments, there is a really annoying and gamebreaking lag which halts the game to a near-freeze. I'm refering to the problem that is also described here:
http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,53320.0.html
The more people that die, the better the lag becomes. Number of corpses and ragdolls do not matter at all.
That thread posts a solution to not-Warband (switching some files or something). What do Warband-owners do then?

Things I've tried:
-Reinstalling the game
-Most graphic setting from extremely high to extremely low (dx7 &9)
-Made sure I have latest drivers of stuff
-Increased that render_buffer_size in rgl.config to 256

I could probably post alot more about my system and setup, but this seems to be a problem with the game itself rather than the system (seeing how many people had the problem in the regular m&b forum).
It seems to be most common on any map where there are horses. (and possibly arrow) Which would be most of the maps... :/

Edit: Solved by restarting game about every ~15 fights.

I'm bumping this with an update:
I tried disabling sound completely, and have not yet encountered the extreme lags after doing so. Seems to be fixed! However, now I'm completely soundless... :/

Nope, still got the lag during sieges most battles. It seems better though... nope, still just as bad...
Edit: On every attack someone makes or when someone dies, there is a distinct stutter. Is this a collision detection problem?

Sorry for bumping, but got news regarding this. Restarting the game makes it play smoothly again. I need to restart the game approx. every 15 fights.

Though now I have another problem. This makes me lose easy battles:

People are sometimes lining up perpendicularly to the enemy instead of forming a line parallell to them.
And some times, telling them to advance 10 paces will make the move 10 paces FURTHER from the enemy. This last problem is easily worked around by telling them to retreat 10 paces instead.

Fix this, and I might consider starting a realistic game! Need ability to reload after failing thanks to bugs...
