Extra weapon slot on a horse?

I was just thinking it would be nice to have access to an extra weapon slot while mounted. Makes sense from a logic point of view, you could have a bow, quiver, sword or such strapped to your horse. While mounted whatever weapon you have in that slot would cycle with your other slots, but not if unmounted.

Thoughts?

I do see a use for this. One small problem I have is lances with 4 or 5 encumbrance which are nearly useless on foot... but I still have the added encumbrance. Being able to keep that equipment on the horse would enable me to shift between cavalry and infantry more efficiently.

It would also make sieges more fun, since I hate it beginning a siege to find out I am equipped for cavalry (lances and no ranged weapons).

I agree. but not all weapons should be able to be put on a horse, for example a halberd, where should a halberd be strapped on a horse?
But swords smaller bows like the Khergit bow, but not the warbow could be strapped on a horse.

On the other hand, most of these are the kind of weapons you would not bother strapping to a horse anyway.

Technically you could keep a halberd in the saddle boot (usually used for lances) and there would be room for a war bow (if stored pointing upwards).

I'd like this on foot or mounted so you could e.g have a spear, shield, sword, bow and arrows - as many nomads and e.g Byzantine cavalry did

In a saddle boot, or I see it wrong, or dont you need to hold it in your from keep it from falling?
