Exported characters

I have windows 7 and when I export there are no new files under the exported characters file. I can export and import but I can not go in and edit the files. I'd like to make an archer and all infantry and archer force, not one horse. But early in the game you must have some agility and athletics to get any where. To clarify, import and export works, but the file does not appear in the exported character file.
Did they change the way it works to make it harder to edit characters or is it a Windows 7 problem?

Sometimes Windows 7 writes not in the correct folder but creates a new one.
Open your folder, there should be a button or menu item with a name like "similar folder" or something (don't have Windows 7 here so I can't tell you the exact position and such). You could also search the forum, I know there was a detailed answer somewhere.
