Exploration more rewarding

After hundreds of hours spent on this game, I know what's really missing imo: a rewarding exploration feature.

Let me explain: we have a huge map, dozens of villages and cities but nothing else to do outside of them except fighting and travelling.

To improve the gameplay, we could have to search for "treasures" in lost places like ruined villages, old castles, etc. It' not possible to find them only by searching on the map, instead the player has to find a quest related to a treasure hunting by talking to anyone in any places until he/she finds a trail.

In the same way, sometimes the player's party could find a chest full of goods in the wild (like the samurai chest in Rivacheg), its position is random and it s shown like a little cross on the world map. A high spotting skill could be needed.

I agree that exploration would really add a lot to the game.

The "visitable battlefields" thread would help in this regard. http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,18541.0.html

The "Additional Map Objects - for a Beautiful, Vibrant, Realistic Calradia" would also help in this regard http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,37815.0.html especially if we could switch to a battle map mode without actually going into battle.

Also things like ruins, caverns, mines, temples, abandoned villages, forest cabins, etc., etc. randomly placed on the map for each new game. These could incorporate little semi-random quests as well as treasures and such. There wouldn't need to be a fog of war on the world map but these sites would be figured just like other parties by using proximity and the spotting skill. Some things would be randomly placed but only in the forests so they would be hard to spot even when visible due to proximity. These would be even better if they were random but also set-up so that not all of the possible places/mini-quests would even appear in any given game. That way one may occasionally find some cool places and mini-quests that they never heard of before when they start a new game.
