So I recently joined a faction as a mercenary, hoping to gain some reknown and experience in proper wars, but I don't want to get tied down. The pay is abysmal and not at all worth it to start with, but at the very least i'm getting loot, hostages and experience. But I realized something too late, that I was stuck with this faction now, because the contract does not expire. Even during peacetime. And if I try to leave everyone in the faction hates me like I was a vassal who renounced his sacred vow to his liege. The best way to meet people and make an impression is to be a merc and work for all of the different factions, and It sucks I can't leave on good terms.
