Didn't find a single mention on this yet and I hadn't heard or seen anything about it before a couple of days ago.

Everspace is a single player rogue-like open world spaceship shooter game, with upgrades that alter how your ship behaves and looks. Dead = dead, but there's a kind of persistent progression in it that will let you keep dying till you're strong enough to overcome the odds.

The controls have been focused on mouse and keyboard and controllers. Gameplay is going to be arcadey, no Elite: Dangerous levels of sim.

Looks gorgeous in pre-alpha, and the gameplay looks like a helluvalot of fun too.

Pre-orders for alpha and beta access are open, at €40 for beta access, and €60 for alpha access. The game itself is set to be €30 at release.

Alpha access is starting end of this month, and early access pre-orders are only open for a few more days.

Just copying this from their website:

  • PC platform with additional platforms as stretch goals
  • Singleplayer Rogue-like gameplay with persistent progression
  • AAA-style visuals & sound and rock solid controls
  • Captivating non-linear storytelling that perfectly fits the nature of a rogue-like
  • In-depth upgrade and damage system
  • 1st and 3rd person action focus (no sim)
  • VR-Support for oculus Rift and HTC Vive

Not as far as I'm aware, but every upgrade is supposed to have a visual impact, with things like the wings changing the look radically.

Eh, I'll hold off on all the hype stuff. It seems to me that the draw of these kinds of rougelike games is the variety of ways to play, whereas this one seems rather shallow. That's based on impressions rather than actual knowledge.
