EPIC Moments?

Hi all, just wondered if anyone had any really epic/cool/unbelievable battlefield moments they wanted to share?

I was inspired to do this topic as normally I am quite bad at this game. I usually play sieges and the occasional battle and I am lucky to get a couple of kills. I can't manual block to save my life and I am pretty crap all round  :(

HOWEVER, about an hour ago on the 22nd Siege Server, on the Helm's Deep map, I had an EPIC moment. The enemy were breaking through the gate in the Deeping Wall and as they broke through and charged in I managed to kill 6 enemies in a row before finally someone took me down. I couldn't believe it as normally I would have just been slaughtered and trampled on but I for some reason the Gods were with me and just by swinging my Bardiche like a berserker I took out a load of people.

I'd love to hear other people's amazing stories of battlefield deeds!!

Also, does anyone feel this is maybe an item of unbalance in the game? that someone with an axe and a bit of luck can kill 6 people in a row who are more skilled than them?

DISCLAIMER: The purpose of this topic is not to blow my own trumpet, I'm not trying to say how good I am because I will openly admit I am real bad at this game in Multiplayer. I merely wanted to share my moment with everyone and hear about other people's cool moments.

Back in beta, when I was still a noob, I had recently discovered the great hammer. (back before it was nerfed). The map was ruined fort and I was the last one left alive. I was in the bottom of the ruined house building. I took out my trusty hammer and pounded 7 of them before one of the last people left got me.

My single best moment was defending Hailes Castle on the GK siege server. The attackers had gotten the gate open and so I and two or so others went to go get the gate closed. They had a big group inbound plus one or two in the gatehouse. My allies engaged the guys in the gatehouse while I pushed through and engaged the big group outside. I was fighting 8 enemies plus 4 more inbound. I killed the first group of 8, and then killed 3 of the next 4 before being killed by the last guy. In the meantime my two allies had cleared the gatehouse and gotten the gate closed.

Edit: To make it clear, I was fighting 8 at once, not 8 in a row.

It's interesting because I honestly fight better 1v3 or 1v4 better than I do 1v1, unless the enemy group is particularly well coordinated. I'm not a great dueler but I'm good at dealing with groups.

At some event on the 22nd server I had the opportunity to play on battle with 111 on each side, random desert plains, Surranids vs. Vaegirs. EPIC.

Also, to answer your question: I don't think that type of weapon is unbalanced. Perhaps the last tier 2 handed axe that the Nords get, but in general, no. You just happened to be swinging at the right time, catching them off guard. Siege is pretty hectic, and moments like those are going to happen more often than in the other game modes.

I have had lots of epic moments, minutes and hours with this game and here's few

First one is not a particular moment, rather a kind of feeling. It's the feeling that you are the god of the battlefield, no one can do anything stop you. I remember several times in TDM when I was alone, saw a group of 3-6 enemies coming and I was already planning how to circle behind the enemy archers after I had killed those obstacles. I didn't doubt even a second that I couldn't kill them.
Needless to say but I did kill them. Every time.

Another story that comes to mind is once when I was defending Helm's Deep (the version with only one gate) as Rhodok. At the beginning of the battle I was Sharpshooter, first at the backdoor, then on the walls. When there were ~5 minutes left, enemies managed to open the gate and I was just died so I switched to Sergeant. I had sniped enough people to be able to buy the best armor and both 1h and 2h cleavers. I ran out of the flag hall and went defending the left side where enemies come through that doorway.
I stood there, killed everyone trying to pass. Then I advanced, switched 2h and continued killing people. They brought archers, I killed them. More footmen came, only to die to my cleaver. When time ran out I still stood there and nobody had passed through. I defended that side of the castle practically alone the whole five minutes without dying.

Awesome great stories thats why I love M&B purely for great moments such as these.

@EdwardWellcraft - I couldn't believe it myself as I am no dueler either, but when this happened there was at least two at a time coming at me and sometimes they were mounted and I think this can actually put your opponents off, because they are concerned with team killing whereas you can just concentrate on swinging at the right time. I honestly think this was just a very lucky experience and I just caught them off guard.

Any more stories just keep em coming they are very interesting to read!  :D

Something that makes it even more awesome is that I'm the last survivor.

I'm the same way.  It's really fun to fight a bunch of people at once, and constantly reposition yourself so that they keep hitting each other.  I like to switch my targets up a lot too, so that I can get in some free smacks on people who aren't expecting them.  Sometimes I think I have an aura of teamkilling, because I cause so many of them for the other team.

I had an epic moment yesterday in a siege battle.  I was already having a really good game, where my score was way higher than it had a right to be.  As a result, I was playing a Rhodok infantryman with the best armor, best helmet, best gauntlets, etc.  I decided to attack the enemy siege tower/spawn area and I went on a killing spree of 9 or 10 before I was eventually shot to death by 4 archers.  It was like that LotR's scene with Boromir  8-)

@tumph lol thats awesome! i was rooting for you to kill the fully armoured mamluke guy

@Helz - that sounds pretty sweet wish i could've seen it, I love it when you've got loads of arrows sticking out of you ahaha

About two ours ago I had an epic moment: Me and my vassals had about 250 soldiers and the enemy (the Sarranids) had 700+ soldiers (and not only low tier troops). I'm using the Battle Size Changer and changed the battle size up to 600 so it had been a really big battle at a difficultness of 96% and I won. At the end of the second (the last) battle I stood with only 9 of me and my vassals men on the battlefield and everywhere had been dead persons. If that isn't an epic moment, I'll eat a broom.

I've had 3 extremely epic moments that I still remeber. The first was in M&B .808 I had a line of crossbowman and infantry lined up in front of a deep ditch/creek thing. The epic part is, I didn't know it was there until I fell down it a few seconds before the enemy reached my line. The next thing I know, xbowmen, infantry and black knights are raining down on my head.  I ended up winning that battle too.

Zip ahead to WB. On GK_Server I killed a group of six enemies by myself with only a spear and shield, the latter of which broke halfway through the fight.

Finally, just the other day while I was defending Turin Castle as Swadia, there were 3 (1 cav, 2 inf) enemies ninja'ing the flag with only myself around to see it. Right before the flag was completely down, I jumped off the wall, killed one infantry with the jump strike, killed the stunned cavalier, and finished off the other infantry in a pretty epic duel, all while using only a 2-handed Sword.

I had a good one yesterday where I found myself cut off from most of my team, and 6 guys were rushing me and spreading to surround me. I had a two-hander, and they had a couple two-handers, 3 sword-and-board and an archer with a two-hander for back up.

We circled around, exchanged some swings and blocks, and eventually I had killed 5 of them. The last one left was the archer, and he was standing back from the melee a few feet. He paused for a moment, backed up, then turned and ran away. I gave chase, but one of my cavalry teammates swooped in and head slashed the guy as he rode past.

This was in the cRPG mod, and I was relatively low level at the time. I would never have been fast enough to catch the person on my own, and I think he was going to get a safe distance, then try to shoot me with arrows. That horseman had some great timing.

My team was fighting against the Nords, losing really badly on the Port map. Getting utterly steamrolled by turtles. My arrows did nothing but turn them into walking modern art pieces :(
I was freakin' out man, seriously NORDS WERE EVERYWHERE...Surrounding the house...I got cornered on a stairway with about 6 or so of them, who axe-faced all my teammates around me. FURYYYYYYY  :x. And also....SCARRRRYYYYY .
I raised my shield to blockspam and walked with them for a while with every single one of my toes crossed, pretending to be one of them I THINK - not sure. You see, I have a tendency to wander and pace when I don't know what I'm doing. I guess I was doing some of that too heh :P.
Well, happy-happy days!  :D  I managed to slash a few of them - a bit uncoordinated, mostly hacked at the banisters flubflubflub - but it was funnnnnnnnnn and OH SO SATISFYING. How I wasn't noticed is beyond me. I was giggling for ages after. After I had a giant axe chop me to death. Lots of squeaking.

Sweet! Yeah its annoying when archers run off when they realise you're about to cave their head in  :)

Last night, at the ENPL match RJ&C vs RRush, I seen some totally epic MotF battles. The flags just went up and down three or four times during the same MotF battle... I was like: "who the hell will win this?".
Also that last nord who wasted 5 rhodoks before he died was... probably drunk :P

On field by the river, the ruins under the field itself, jumping over the tree stumps and spearing an archer in the head as he's standing on the decline getting ready to shoot my horse. I just *love* it when jumping a hurdle and spearing some bastard who thinks he's safe and about to get me trapped.

In the late beta (about a month before release), I was playing on ruins against khergits.  Me and a fellow clan mate were the last two alive, and we were trapped in the center ruined building (I was on the roof and he was underneath inside), and there were three horse archers left.  One dismounted and went for the other guy, while I jumped off the roof and killed one of the horse archers while failing.  The other one rode off and I went in to help my teammate, but he was already dead when I got in but I was able to kill the guy.  The last horse archer had dismounted and gotten on the roof and jumped onto part of the buildings wall.  I went up and jumped across at him and killed him mid jump.  :)
