He maintains that he did tell the admins, and that nobody listened. It's easy to overlook complaints, especially when a server has lots of people on it.

I am not an admin, but i keep myself updated. However, i cannot check the logs, obviously.

The reason he is getting banned is not only because he admitted to only trying to tell them a few times, but also because he started using the money to lag the server (spam horses), give his friends top tier armor, and trying to give the money away to players.

if everyone has plate armor and full equips and noone is making weapons.. why do you need weapons? everyone is fully equiped? (i thought there were a bunch of forced rp rules now, balancing and that shouldnt matter if its RP)

if it actually breaks the game then sure, but if its a balance issue - thats still totally uncool for ban him for it.

and why the hell do admins have a gimme ****loadocash button anyway? im pretty sure i read a post about admins not being allowed to play normally - why would the admins need money?

in v3 the admin cheat was literally a cheat for admins having money (inducing RP, just having it easy) and for map testing purposes.


and again - disregard all my opinions about balance and RP, this guy didnt know the rule , and for something not blatantly obvious (like dont spawncamp) a permaban for a problem induced by a server admin is ridiculous.

warn him? sure - this threat is already a warning in itself. Temp ban? well.. its temporary -  still think its unfair but atleast it IS temporary.

and its not exactly like he can do it again unless one of the admins are ******** about?

The armory stocks are limited. After awhile, the stocks would run dry. And without materials and engineers, they wouldn't refill.

I have allready said why he is getting banned. I am not an admin and i am not banning him. The only reason i know that he is getting banned is because he said so himself.

The admin money in V4 is for example to reimburse for randoms (money is worth alot more in V4), to host events, and for example for starting funds, when the server resets, so that everybody can get a kicking start.
The money spawn is a necessity, but it can be devastating if used by a bad admin.

If i were to own the server, i would have permabanned him and then unbanned him. Giving him a To-reset ban, as a warning. I don't think that he will have any problems getting unbanned if he asks for it. However, the admins have to make an example of him aswell.

They need to show that letting this amount of money into the game economy, spamming horses, and not really bothering with reporting it, WILL get you banned. And you can now see the result of why it isn't allowed: The server reset.

And i believe the admin that is responsible had his rights removed.

If the evidence shows that splofot tried to contact the admins then he should be fine,  And how is he supposed to know that spawning horses lags the server?
I didn't know that each horse counts for almost 1 player worth of data until I got into server hosting.  And to be fair by contacting the admins and posting this thread he did way more then I would do if I found 133 million gold.

I spoke with him.

He actually charged an enemy faction's castle- his "randokilling" wasn't randoming as we considered it, simply not stopping to talk to the already hostile faction, which nobody does anyway.

Please; his logic was flawed, but the numbers were nothing to do with it. Don't get defensive of the server- it's not disputed that EU is the biggest right now. If it's pissing you off/causing you to crash, and it continues, odds are other people in however-big-the-pop-is will also anger other people.

We should discuss things, not fling sh!t.

He will not be perm-ban. After each money spam we do a reset and the current limitation of the bank prevent people to add 1 million to their bank.

After the cleaning of the Trial team, the current one now know what wait them if they mess around with money.
