Quick question, if I keep releasing enemy Lords and they really like me, when I finish wiping out the Vaegir is there a chance they'll join my Rebel Faction? Or can they only join one of the major factions?

Depends on the faction. If it's a claimant faction, every Vaegir lord will join you if your claimant is the Vaegir claimant. Else, no.

Ah so before I go finish off the last Vaegir stronghold I should go grab the Claimant? Note I've never messed with claimants at all and understand zero about how to use them or what happens once you champion for one.

warning, you will loose all your fiefs when you take up your claimants cause. or so i have heard, never done things in that order before. im more of a betrayer, first help him get everything, make sure everything that happens is to my favour (give me the good fiefs) and then rebel and betray =)

By lose all my fiefs you mean they revert to their original owners or they become owned by the Claimant?

Because I don't care as long as the Vaegir scum are stuck with their last castle only lol

Revert to their original owner. i dont see the whole point of this, but maybe im wrong. Its just something i have picked up here in the forum

I'm pretty certain if you own fiefs you keep them. You can't have an oath of loyalty if you decide to back a claimant, so when you renounce your oath, you end up returning all your fiefs to the King whose service you just left. Anyways, all I was saying was, if you're a rebel, you will never have a Lord on your faction. If you're a rebel who's backing a person with a claim to the throne, you can have Lords on your faction.

I'll save and try it lol, I really want to get all those Lord's I've been releasing (I'm at like 3 billion honor from it) to join me, after all the hardship I went through financially from lack of prisoners they better join me lol

You don't lose your fiefs, unless you first hand them back to your king before renouncing your oath. Grey fiefs which you own simply change to the claimants colour but stay yours until the war is over and you divide them between your friends.

To clarify, you cannot join up with a claimant if you have already sworn an oath to a king, and in order for him to release you from your oath you must give up any fiefs he has granted you.

Or capture a city, watch him refuse to grant it to you, renounce your oath, and keep those fiefs.

But this action makes you be considered as under a lord I believe. I think you will have to fight a brand new war. on the bright side, those lords will be easier to convert!

Being a masterless warlord doesn't count as being in a faction (even though doing so creates Kingdom of ______ Rebels with you as the leader), so you can sign up with a claimant after that. All fiefs you held as a masterless warlord will convert to the new rebel faction, although you maintain ownership.

I messed up on this one- I planned on renouncing my oath and assumed I'd lose all my castles and towns, so I emptied the garrisons.  Then I was given the option of staying in his good books by giving up the fiefs, or pissing him off by keeping them.  I kicked myself, cuz I was going to attack him anyway.  Oddly enough I only lost a couple castles (to the remaining landless Nord armies, which the Khergits then took, and I didn't want war with Sanjar), and kept three towns.

WAIT!!!  In hindsight I remember I didn't renounce my oath- I retook Curaw from the nords then rebelled when that bastard Valdym wouldn't even give me that (I guess he realized I was ready to rebel when he didn't give me Tihr, last bastion of the Nordic Lords and a real ***** to take).

I am fairly certain that claimants ask you about whom they should grant fiefs to. I just give them to myself and the claimant, and then all the other lords have no fiefs and I mock them.
