I'm not exactly sure where you wanted me to send those . If you think my work is noteworthy and need another modeler let me know!

Alright, i'll add you to the list as modeller/texturer. You can send the models and textures by email btw.

Or upload them on rapidshare and give me the link.

Could you consider Mirthidates wars as one of the chapters? Those were really epic struggles.
Just a suggestion...

Dionysios II The Great said:
With the Kingdom of Pontus you mean?

Perhaps later. I already planned alot.

Yes, exactly.
Ok, I understand there is lot to do before you so I won't push for it.
Good luck!

sort of off tipic but

I might start a forum,

I would highly recomend not making your own forum, because for one it takes a whole click just to get there, and then you have to find your way around, ect.

why not call your mod: Bello Gallico wich means Gallic war

More precisely, Bello Gallico means concening or about the Gallic war (or by or with or even for the Gallic war)

just Gallic war would be Bellum Gallicum.

Good luck with the mod, looks ambitious.  I haven't any time to give you a hand, much as I'd like to, my scripting's fairly rudimentary at present anyway, I'm only learning myself.  However, if you need any Latin, give me a yell and I'll do my best (or post what you want and I'll try and remember to check here when I'm checking the forums).

ciao Vako

Sabaku_no_Gaara: Nah, that wouldn't fit, as it has to be about the enemies of Rome. Gallic wars wouldn't fit.

Llew2: well, i think it's easier to have a forum here on Taleworlds when we finish a version.

Vako, i will need Latin speakers, so whenever i need Latin, i'll PM you. I'll add you on the team's list as Translator aswell.

Jeansberg: i do not. But if anyone wants to contribute some nice battlecries, that would be very welcome.

Freinds, Romans, Countrymen

Today i present to you, a list of Gallic warriors, equipment etc. with pictures.

From now on, i call upon all our modellers and texturers to start their work on these items. Model them, texture them and save them. More you won't have to do for now. Don't forget to post screenshots when you finished a model.

A Belgic warrior (nevermind the body paint, Celts in Gaul, Belgica, etc., didn't use body paint anymore, except the Pictones and some Gaesatae) - http://www.pegasomodels.com/prodotti/big/54-134_1.jpg

A Celtic regular; good basis for the equipment carried by Neitos, note the trousers, shirt, shoes, and leather vest, as well as the helmet - http://www.pegasomodels.com/prodotti/big/54-038_1.jpg

An old style Celtic chief; a lot of his equipment is still good though for the period; note the large scale armor, the fancy helmet, the hilt of the sword, and his clothing - http://www.pegasomodels.com/prodotti/big/54-132_3.jpg

A standard bearer, note the bronze cuirass and the style of standard - http://www.pegasomodels.com/prodotti/big/54-133_1.jpg

Code:
So, modellers and texturers, you know what to do. :D

yer i know haw i look for british stuff for sudarn war and it takes me days to find a few things i had to sine up for the british cominwelth forum to find halfthe stuff

Well, Anthony is a proffesional historian, and he's a specialist on Celtic stuff.

So he supplied me with it

Anthony also sent me a Celtic tree list, thereby having most (expect German) trees.

I'll start with the Roman list:

Legionary
Basic Roman soldier, armed with Scutum with boss, used to punch people, Gladius, Pugio,
Lorica Hamata, Caligae and one or two Pila (Pilum in the case of one).
          |
Decurion
Leader of a "tent group", or Contubernium in Latin. This group consisted of 8 up to 10 men.
          |
Tesserarius
(Guard Commander)
           |
Optio
Second in command next to a Centurion.
           |
Centurion
Each legion had about 59 or 60 of them. One commanded each of century of the ten cohorts.
They wore decorated Lorica Hamata, and had feathers etc. on their Coolus helmet. They could also had a scarf.
           |
Primi Ordines
Five centurions of the first cohort.
           |
Pilus Prior
The ten Centurions of the First Centuries of each of the ten Cohorts.
           |
Primus Pilus
literally translated, the "First Spear" was the commanding centurion of the first cohort and the senior centurion of the entire Legion.
_________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Equites
Roman nobility, equiped with Lorica Hamata, small round shield and long spear.  And were mounted.
        |
Tribuni Angusticlavii
Each legion had five military tribunes of equestrian class. They served as staff officers of the Legion, but they also commanded detachements of a Legion.

_________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Cornicen
(Horn Blower)
       |
Signifer
Each Century had a Signifer.
He was responsible for the men's pay and savings, and was the standard bearer for the Centurial Signum, wich was often topped by an open hand, to represent the oath of loyalty taken by the soldiers.
       |
Aquilifer
A single position within a Legion. The Aquilifer was the Aquila bearer. Losing the aquila was considered a great dishonor.
Also, thi position was mostly ment for veterans.
       |
Antesignani
These men were "Elite legionaries". They had different equipment and were designed to fill the gaps the Legion lost by disbanding the Velites. These men were equipped with a scarf, Hasta, Gladius, several Light javelins and a smaller, oval shield, instead of the heavy Scutum.

_________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Non-recruitable:

Tribunus Laticlavius
Younger and less expierenced than Praefectus etc.
They were named after the Toga worn by Senators.
         |
Praefectus Castrorum
Camp prefect. Second in command of the legion. They were mostly veterans wo had finished there 25 years in the legion.
        |
Legatus Legionis
He was the overall militarily commander of the legion.
He used to be a Praefectus ir Tribunus Laticlavius.
       |
Dux:
A man in command of one or two legions. Coudl refer to a Consul, but could also be the province Governer.
(notice the name "Dux" wich sounds alot like "Duke")

I will post the Celtic Unit tree later today. And the Neutral list this evening. For the sake of clarity.

I don't know that much about Roman history, but I take it the Roman army didn't use any auxiliary troops in this period? That troop tree looks a little uniform. Are you going to have any options at all when it comes to recruiting Roman troops?

This tree is strictly Roman. The foreigners will be available in the neutral (Massilia) troop tree (instead of peasents etc.)

We will have Cretan Archers, Iberian Scutarii, Gallic Epos etc.

@Turin and Geneyuss, you can start modelling and texturing of Celtic stuff now, check my list above.
(not unit tree off course )

Anyway, more modellers are welcome to help them out. My other two modellers already have other stuff they're working on.

Just a suggestion, glorious leader, but you may want to edit your first post rather than post new replys so that the team can reference the mod without looking around a lot. As the project grows, this will get annoying.

If you dont know what i mean, you should look around at other mods a bit. A running list of the items you need and the ones that are done would be a good start!
