Endless faction loop please help!

I have successfully started a faction with 99 right to rule, and successfully destroyed the vaegirs, and I am spread out through most of the world but there is a slight problem, and by slight I mean big, whenever I get a big foothold over some land, one of my lords defect and take entire castles and towns with them, I can't seem to get ahead, is there something I'm doing wrong?

Sounds like you've either got lords with bad personalities, or aren't keeping decent lords happy.

Have a look at the lord personalities section to learn the indicating dialogues. Avoid Quarrelsome, Pitiless, and Debauched lords.  If you have high honor, and a lord has a slightly negative relation with you despite never meeting them or crossing them prior, they're probably one of these types of lords. They will never be satisfied with the fiefs you give them, will cause issues with other lords, and are very likely to defect when they aren't satisfied. Prioritize any and all Upstanding and Good Natured lords you can get, and Calculating and Martial lords aren't bad either, as long as you're fair to them.

As for treating them fairly, you should consult most lords before handing out fiefs, and generally reward everyone fairly according to their renown. Improving your relationship with them via fiefs is also an excellent idea. In future games, I recommend that you try to get on everyone's good side with as high as a relationship as possible, so they will be much more accepting of your decisions as king, and will join you faster.
