End of battle music

Sergeant at Arms
Just a simple idea inspired from the Total War series. I was over at flyinghands.com to listen to some of their tracks used in M&B and their other works. I saw that they had short versions of their themes. I was thinking that the 10 second version of Reluctant Hero would be perfect to be used in the background as a victory tune as your men cheer, right before exiting to the 'loot screen' (I suggest that the loot screen should be without music). The 10 second version of Requiem would be great for a defeat screen, especially if the Player Character has been captured.

Just a suggestion though. Doesn't have to be implemented if it's too difficult or if the developers (Armagan & co.) think it isn't a necessary change.

Exiting the loot screen shouldn't cut it off, either. In Freelancer, the end of mission music lasts for several seconds no matter what you do. I often tab out of the battle ASAP and exit the looting screen without looking at the loot. Would be odd to hear music just starting up and then stopping.

Oh okay. Forget the bit of cutting the music off.  But I still think that a victory tune should be implemented. Also, if it's not too much of a hassle, the PC should cheer as well. I keep hitting Ctrl-R if on horseback at every victory so that my Hero doesn't look like a total ass... ("We just took out 15 Dark Knights and 25 Khergit Riders! Why isn't Lady Joanna cheering?")

Because the computer makes her a total ass. Not really, though. And do you have to have cheat mode to use ctrl + r?

To make the horse rear up on its two hind legs? No. It's already implemented in-game. I mean. That's the closest you can do to make your Hero cheer. Or press spacebar repeatedly if not on horse to show that he's "hopping mad" after killing 20 Khergit Raiders.

IIRC, when you let the AI take over your character he will cheer occasionally.

Though it would be cool to have celebration music, its not that big of a deal.

Having different tunes would be good, too, depending on the greatness of the victory.
It's much more of a better feeling when you kill those 40 black knights stalking you than when you kill 3 river pirates.

If any of you have Rome: Total War, Rome: Total War Barbarian Invasion, or Medieval II: Total War than you'll know what im talking about. There is a celebratory music after a victory if you are a barbarian faction. It would would be a perfect song for the looting screen.
