Im a huge fan of elder scolls games played almost every one! but of late i've been reading about a possible online elder scrolls game! and gamespot have given me a shimmer of hope!

http://uk.gamespot.com/news/blogs/rumor-control/909119209/26017536/elder-scrolls-mmorpg-confirmed.html

there are a few custom made mods out for Oblivion that allow online game play, but its buggy as hell.

(if there is already a topic on this, my bad)

Eh, I heard a rumour of them hiring MMO programmers. Plus they announced a new TES game in 2010.

I think it'll be pretty terrible. Memorpagers always are.

I heard it's going to be set in Skyrim, since they copyrighted the word.

They've already said Skyrim will be the setting for TES V. Think it leaked out during the Fallout 3 launch. The MMORPG may well be TES, I've also heard it linked to the Terminator franchise.

Exactly what we need! Another generic fantasy MMORPG! That and more WWII FPS.
We could kill two birds with one stone! A generic first person WWII MMORPG!

nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Why do they have to turn one of the best RPG series into a freakin MMORPG? There are enough around and WOW dominates them all.
Well, theres one less RPG to play now...

HOLY HELL A MMORPG LETS INSTANTLY DISMISS IT.
*Concentrates intensely on not thinking on how it may be good*

MMORPG =/= World of Warcraft.

I'm not dismissing it just because it's a MMOPRG. (Though they are definitely not my cup of tea, but if you're a bloke with that much time to waste clicky clickying on monsters to get more stuff so you can clicky clicky on monsters better, more power to you)

I'm dismissing it because it's another generic fantasy MMORPG. More elves and orcs and swords for all!

Bethesda games always do seem to... lack, a certain something.

Something like... depth, I suppose. There are always so many items in the games, and nothing you can actually DO with them.

I use my spoons and plate and forks and dump them in my house. I use all of my cases to store cool looking weapons, althoug no one ever sees them...

I am dismissing it because I do not want to pay every month for a MMORPG, I do not have enough time for a MMORPG, and I liked their first person RPGs. I suppose if they made this no consoles I may look into it, but I highly doubt they will.
We need a cave man RPG game.

Exactly, I don't like those kind of MMORPG's they don't have to be like that.

Who mentioned anything about monthly fees? They haven't even said yet...

Old news is old. This rumour was based off a misquote and Bethesda has said there is no MMORPG in the works for TES.

yet they registered the URL, if they ever make one it will not be for a while... we will probably forget about this in a week.

I dont want a mmorpg
I just want a LAN support for lets say 8man max.. that would make me happy!
allways wanted a good coop for oblivion ( not that buggy mod  )

Maybe not, but I've noticed that most (only exception I've seen was Guild Wars) end up having a monthly fee. That is one reason I've never been into online games.

I do hope they don't though. First Knights of the Old Republic goes online, and now TES (or has the rumor been shot down)?

how can you call oblivion terrible? its possibly my fave game for both pc and xbox 360. i love nothing more then exiting the sewers of the imperial city an seeing the vast open landscape! every game i start has a completely different outcome that to me is far from terrible.

When I first read the title, "Elder Scrolls Online", I imagined it Morrowind style, but then I remembered Oblivion, and now I'm a little sceptical.
