Effective Siege Strategy

Hey guys! Ive made a very effective siege strategy! (Against the Rhodok defenders) As you all know, besieging Rhodok castles is a living hell, so even though this is a relativly long and costley one, it works. Well. What I did was gather 215 of Calradia's best infantry, put the Huscarls first, followed by Sarranid Guards. We besieged Maras Castle. Took 4 Wounded only. I used Vaegir Gueads, Swadian/Rhodok Sergants, some Sarranid Guards, and most importantly, Nord Huscarls.  So feel free to try this.

Is it really a strategy if you only pick infantry and rush them?

Why not "Archers form a line to shoot their walls. Infantry charge with the unmounted cav behind. In this case you try to be the first and get behind the enemy lines so you can clear out the towers which hold the most crossbowman. After you done that the archers can either focus their volley to aid the infantry or if you took to long and the archers are without arrow. Let them charge behind the cavalry. Mean while you can attack the infantry in the back or pick up a crossbow & Bolts to shoot the infantry in the back. You can do this if you're below 20% health.

This sounds more like a strategy.

The strategy is to only pick top tier infantry

But what kind of damage setting do you use to only suffer 4 casualties when rushing Rhodok defenders?  And what's your battlesize?

Somehow I doubt such a strategy would work that well when you have to wait for the siege tower to move into position.

I think there is a flaw with my previous "strategy". If you make your archers form a line while all the crossbowman are still alive you will lose a lot of them, but if you let them hide behind a hill or very close to the wall and then kill the crossbowman in the towers this is assuming that you're alone and have snuck behind the enemy back. Doing this while the siege is in full swing is a bit useless. After the towers are done in you could assign the archers to make a line and fire at the infantry on the roofs.

Of course such a tactic would vary between castles. Doing this with (for example) Grunwalder castle would be useless because there are some towers which you can only acces if you're far-far behind enemy lines.

I usually use - infantry take place quite near the ladder and stand closer (if husclars or other equiped with throwing stuff - also hold your fire) - close enought to make enemy infantry throw their axes and spears*,  archers stand in line, bit on the back. After few moments enemy archers are dead (I and npc help with that). Whole who remain is projectileless infantry and cav on the walls near the leader. You may climb the ladder and provoke enemies to prepare a swing(soon then they will get an bolt in face, just  better to be careful when new enemies with new projectiles arrive). You may shot all your and army arrows, draw back and siege again (not ellegant, but I dunno how to deal with 150 sharpies and 150 seargants using just 100 men, seriously), you may also wait when front of castle is relatively empty and new arrived enemies aren't on their positions yet and charge in this moment, you may also combine three above options.

*But not to close enough to get enemy archers possibility to shoot them from aside.

Wouldn't it be more effective to simply use all Huscarls? Vaegirs are squishy.

Alone even husclars die to easy since one, two of them face a bunch of defendrs on the top and and archers from towers on two sides. Espesially moment when the try to throw their axes is when they often die.
