If anyone else is looking, I finally found a solution that would work with Floris Mod Pack.
What I did was a bit excessive. There is a large mod called Diplomacy Compilation (http://www.nexusmods.com/mbwarband/mods/3969/?), which contains a small python edit "Lords equipment" by marsalol. I downloaded the whole mod, and then found "conversation.txt". This is all you need, forget the rest of the mod. First of course, MAKE A COPY of "conversation.txt" in Floris module (for safe keeping)....then replace it with "conversation.txt" from the Diplomacy Compliation module.
Booted up Floris, and sure enough, I was able to ask a Lord to see his equipment. Woot!! No longer are my companion-vassals ugly af!!
When I was done dressing them up, I closed the game, and re-replaced "conversation.txt" with the one that came with Floris....just so I didn't have any problems. Open up the game, it's back to normal Floris, and the Lord is still wearing the clothes! Try it out!
Probably an easier way to do this, but hope this helps anyone looking desperately for the same thing
