So I was reading about the economy under game concepts and was wondering if economic warfare like attacking caravans, raiding towns, etc will actually weaken a kingdom in any significant way?
But I think more caravans would mean cheaper goods because of the ammount they export thus making trade a little less profitable in certain places. Not forgetting to mention that the trade caravans might be more of a burden due to the wages of the soldiers/mercenaries guarding them thus making a kingdom import more than what it exports.
I think the wages of the guards are a non-issue. I think it is possible to weaken a faction by disrupting the caravans trading with them. Not just their caravans, but also the caravans of other factions trading with them
You can actually have a little monopoly on some items in certain cities. If you keep disrupting the Caravans and notice which item hasn't been going in the city, you can buy/steal that item else where and trade it in at that city for a great profit.
