Announcements

We've decided to delay the signups for 1 week due to a lack of teams. We're therefore also allowing teams that finished 3rd in their ECS group to play in the ECL should they so wish.
Hopfully this results in an additional 3-4 teams signing up.

This means that the signups will end on: 12/06.

Due to both Nordic and KoA leaving the tournament, we'll continue with 14 teams.
We've also decided to make the knockout stages a week longer than previously, which means the top 8 will fight eachother for the first place.
We hope that this will help establish a better tournament and increase competitivity.

With Gorlock being unable to do any moderation on our board, after getting muted and removed as board moderator, we've decided to add Yami to the administration team.

It has come to our attention that the player Aiden, who played in Week 2 for Brothers of Meridian, was the same person that played as Natasha for FTW in the ECS and as such was not permitted to play in the ECL. This player was long informed that they weren't eligible and as such knowingly broke the rules. He is therefore banned from the tournament.

Aiden played in 2 sets for BoM versus Tq last week, as such any rounds BoM won while he played have been declared void. Tq decided against replaying the entire map, so the score for Tq vs BoM will now be 6-6.

The admin team is satisfied that BoM had no knowledge that Aiden was purposefully breaking the rules so no further action will be taken against them.

The league will be updated soon. Week 3 fixtures will remain as is, since it's too late in the week to change them up. We apologise to all affected, and remind all teams that everyone suffers when cheaters succeed.

The admin team came across evidence that the player Devil, from the team Panda and Friends, was using the same ID that Arni had signed up under in ECS2. As playing with IDs which were previously used by another player is strictly prohibited, he will be banned for the rest of the tournament.

Devil played in 4 sets for Panda and Friends versus Balestra last week, as such any rounds Panda and Friends won while he played have been declared void, and the final result will be amended to 8-0 for Balestra.

Upon thorough investigation of the incident, the admin team has reached the conclusion that Devil was not Arni, but another player using his ID. As such, Panda and Friends will not be held responsible for playing a noneligible player and will not face any further repricussions.

We urge teams to be certain of their player IDs and to submit them prior to offiical matches, so this can avoided.

The player ShanksIV played for Kattegat in Week 3. ShanksIV played for Wonwokie in the ECS and as such was not eligible. ShanksIV is therefore banned from the tournament and the result is scored 12-0 to their opponents.

The admin team reminds all teams that it is your responsibility to ensure every player is legitimate, has a unique ID, and is allowed to play in the ECL. If you have ANY questions or doubts come to one of the admin team who are almost always online.

We are coming across too many of these issues and as such will be taking harsher measures towards any in the future - accidental or not. Any teams already having been involved in this can consider themselves on their final warning - BoM, Panda, and Kattegat.

Separately, the player Svan for Rising Rivals was shown to have joined his team and left in order to spectate, counter to the rules. As such he will receive a one match suspension.

The match between Rising Rivals and Tranquility ended up in a tiebreaker, where an unknown player joined the server and banned everyone from the server while Rising Rivals were up 1-0 and winning the 2nd round 7 versus 1. The match continued 2-0 afterwards, with no gold available from round wins and Tranquility won 3-0. We discussed the situation thoroughly and decided that the 2 rounds should be replayed with kills and deaths simulated as were originally, so it is as fair to both teams as possible, it's also been decided that Tranquility's last living member of the 2nd round will be allowed to survive the round and upgrade equipment as he wishes. The match will then continue as 2-0 to Rising Rivals and both teams will be able to fight for their place in the finals as it should've happened the first time.
We hope to avoid similar incidents in the future and will do our utmost best to ensure the last matches to be as safe as possible. It's a matter we are unable to prevent and deal with in swift manners, and hope we've made the right choice here.

Just before the semi-finals a player named Froind Fridolin (217415:cool: was added to the Malta roster. At the time I checked the ID on the forums, and it wasn't mentioned anywhere. The Malta leader, Unicorn mentioned that he played for them in the final weeks of WNL5, but wasn't added to their roster. Today we received an anonymous tip that Froind is in fact Motthe, who is ineligible to play in the ECL as he participated in the knockout stages of the ECS. When asked, Unicorn linked me Froind's steam profile: http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198145570381/.

Upon further investigation of the name 'Larry Lindworm' we received testaments from several players, all of which pointed to Motthe being Larry Lindworm. We also checked the ID (217415:cool: on Ludus, and the name 'Motthe' was used several times.

As a result of this, and due to Motthe playing against both Fearless and RR in the semi-finals and finals respectively, we've decided to re-do the finals with RR vs Fearless.
