Anyone else keeping an eye on this?

So far, Metal Gear Rising and the new 360 are the only things really getting me hard.

(Editted to appease Ljas)

In any case, no, I haven't followed E3 since it was toned down.

I'm looking forward to the new MGS, the Assasins creed looked cool, but I doubt i'll be getting it. There's a shortage of good RPG's this year... (so far) Not counting Fable, 'cause I don't like that series.

Liking how they refused to show any of The Old Republic and just gave an overdone CGI trailer.

New Xbox 360?

I am now forced to hold off buying the Xbox 360 then. I guess I'll just acquire one when I move to the UK.

Smaller, faster, quieter, bigger hard drive. Shipped today!

Deadspace 2 looks fun, even if it's gone the FEAR horror route instead of say, Silent Hill 2.

I'm glad Microsoft crashed and burned with their press conference, I can only hope that their demo's fail equally as much...

OHSHIIIIIT.

I'm getting one.
Why do people waste their money on microsoft's consoles? They are unreliable, and the only exclusives they have are lame shooters like Halo and GOW. Uncharted and Infamous all the way! Fanboyism FTW!

Nice going, you killed the thread.
As if E3 was going to garner any attention on taleworlds. Most people here are going through a gamers mid-life crisis.

Wow, everybody is just bringing out more gimmicks in a sad, sad attempt to save the industry. Gamers tend to get tired of any given console system in approximately five years after its release, now Microsoft and Sony are trying to counter this trend with a bunch of gimmicks featuring the same games Nintendo brought out four years ago for the Wii (the retarded sports pack). I can only hope they'll at some point realize that the reason why gamers lose their interest is that people tend to get tired of gimmicks pretty goddamn fast. That includes graphics.

A big problem with the graphics side of things seems to be that every time a new shader or type of bloom is worked into a game, it's immediately regarded as the new standard.

When people see a new game with ground breaking graphics, and just reply 'Oh, those are nice.' and burn the game if it doesn't quite meet those standards, it's a bit of a race to spam as much bloom as humanely possible.

All speculation, of course. I don't know anything about the industry.

Erm, since when were Halo and GoW exclusive to the XBox? Both are available on PC, they're just **** so nobody buys them.

Not really. Microsoft and Sony would both take it up the arse from Satan if they thought they could make money doing it; the Wii has proven there's a vast untapped market of middle aged women happy to pay extortionate prices on keep fit games, so they're targeting them specifically. Microsoft even admit as much in their press release.

Ah, not really. The problem is the corporations are now full of businessmen rather than gamers, and as a result they've lost track of the market. It's the same as the music industry in that respect; for some reason as soon as it goes corporate they seem incapable of comprehending the idea that there may be more than a single market in their field. Although EA seems to be getting it's **** together of late, which is probably a good sign as they've generally been the trailblazers as far as the general industry goes.

Games lost their soul long ago if you ask me... I can't really get into the game anymore, it just doesn't feel the same as it felt couple of years ago. That's why I started making games myself. I'm going to school specialized for computers and doing some projects on my own. I'd like to found a company in a few years and try to give my games a soul which most of today games do not have.

I'd love to make my own games myself one day, and that questmania looked intresting, not intrested in trackmania though. Hopefully it will have good tools and alot of availability.
