Yep, it's breaking the economy to just farm looters and sell these things.

I wouldn't go that far. You really can't efficiently farm looters because there aren't enough of them and even if you do line up three or four decent groups a day, it is only about 1500-2500 denars a day, before you get into party wages. Not really enough for you to gear up, given armor prices.
