Bilik of the Khamag
Recruit

We know that players can have children who can become playable characters upon the death of the parent character, but what would happen if the player had multiple children, but only one may inherit? It would make sense for the other children to stay around as companions so long as the new player character maintains good relations with them, but if they don't maintain good relations, or if the other siblings rolled attributes that override their loyalty, wouldn't it be cool if those siblings rebel? They could form new splinter factions and take some of your fiefs with them, then make alliances with your enemies.
This would have the effect of making the game fresh again with each new generation because your heir maintains all the land you won, but the world becomes more dynamic once again, just as it frequently did upon the death of rulers throughout history. Think of the Mongol Horde after the death of Genghis Khan, the splintering of Alexander's empire, and so on. Get some King Lear action going on. I don't even think this would require much new code because all these mechanics already exist in the game, it just gives an opportunity for the late game to open up with new possibilities.
