Hey guys

Trying to download the patch and I get the error "Taleworlds.com could not be found"

Same error if I try the full game download.

Anyone else having problems? Servers down? bad link?

I'm using Firefox, but I get the same problem in IE too.

And shouldn't it be directing to Taleworlds.net ?

Still not working.

wierd.

Theres a few things I can try, just wanted to make sure the problem was at this end before I start taking things apart

I only downloaded 7.0 yesterday too...

As I expected, it seems that the links are pointing to the old Taleworlds.com adress, which doesn't exist.

Manually typing in the url and altering it to taleworlds.NET worked

This link should work

I'm surprised no-one else suffered this problem

Hmmm ...

I wonder if I should change my signature to match that. I haven't had any problems getting it from the .com though. Strange. :???:

Great find and thanks for letting us know how you fixed it.

I created a thread a few days ago - "Cannot download" - with the same problem. Unfortunately, no one seemed to want to answer (last time I checked, I.E. yesterday[?])

From what I can gather, taleworlds.com doesn't exist.

I remember Armagan saying he was going to have the .com address point at the .net address, it may just be that my browser is rejecting the redirection.
Interestingly enough, checking for updates from the M&B launch screen returns a "problem connecting with server" type message.

Zadok, have you tried my link? did it work for you?

After testing I can't access the new activation page either. From what I can tell, its as if the entire domain "Taleworlds.com" doesn't exist. However, replacing .com with .net works fine so far. Attempting to access the new activation page is the same, although I can reach http://act.taleworlds.net fine.
My theory at the moment is that www.taleworlds.com points to www.taleworlds.net. Hence when you click on the .com link the download still comes from the .net domain. I suspect that either my browser settings or security software aren't 100% happy about this.
Since this was working fine on Monday, I'm also thinking that it was an update to Windows\firewall\browser or anti-virus which caused the problem.

I humbly suggest that it might be worthwhile to sticky some relevant links to the .net address for the downloads and activation page in case this problem occurs in the future.
