fun mod by the way, keep up the good work!

Got two helmets done, download links are in the progress report thread on our subforum.

Atilla: Just get the latest one.

saddly about the pistol delay, I can't do nothing to change the animation. Or the solution would be to change the crossbow meshes by the pistol ones and the bolts by the bullets and so using the crossbow skill instead of the forearm skill but I hate this solution...

i have a request. can you make a mini mod for your mod, that takes away all horses and guns. i tried to do that, but i have 0 haxor skillz....to putt it in another way, i ****ED the game upp, ach

I too have now tryed out your mod. Excellent work I must say.. I do however find it very difficult playing a two-handed weapons wielder. Closing in with a bunch of musket dudes is suicide of the highest degree, but even further away a lucky shot from an enemy can make my brain boil in fury. I havent thought of any fix for this, or even if there needs to be. Just had to be said..
Also at one point I could have sworn I saw a cow.. on closer inspection it was a horse after all. Very funny indeed.  Cows crack me up.
Im a sworn raipier or similar weapons type wielder when I use sword, that is thrust attack is the key. Is it possible to take away the high cut attack from these weapons so that even if you look slightly more up than down on the screen it would thrust and not cut???  <--- valid question here or should it be redirected Zendar Towns Square or Privy Council?

Hi,

if I understand you right, the shooting delay you object to is technically correct. In matchlocks which should be the arms in this mod and also flintlocks, even after the arrival of the "quick ignition" type there is a very perceptible delay between pulling the trigger and the gun going off.

Wheel locks are faster, but much more expensive and very fragile. I don`t know what period exactly this mod is supposed to picture, but if it is early Renaissance as I think(1490 - 1520), there should be no pistols at all, only matchlock arquebuses. One great mod it is, BTW.

Thanks for the comments and precisions.
But I must admit that this mod doesn't take part in any 'real' historical period. I didn't really work on the background story or the historical setting. AT first I was  'inspired' by the late Middle age and the transition to the Renaissance. But it became something that look more like a mix of eras and esthetics. Also, my love for the Empire army in the Warhammer game has contributed a lot.
About pistols and muskets : my next move will probably be to improve teir look and add more of them to the game while trying to stay near the xvi era's look.

I like the firearms. They really change the gameplay, without them the mod would be little more than cosmetics. BTW the pistol was invented in the early 16th century so it does fit. 1530something as far as I know, its close enough.

I know, I'm just saying the pistol fits into the time period too. Not sure how common they were, but they did exist.

Hi Luigi,

please don`t add more muskets. DELETE muskets! The musket makes most of the armour obsolete and I want this mod to depict the transition period between Middle Ages and Renaissance when armour still was a realistic proposition. IMO, if you want muskets and balanced play, you`d have to nerf the musket down way below its RL potential(or up the armour) and it shouldn`t be usable from horseback either, of course. So where`s the sense of it?
If you want a super-weapon, very rare and hard to obtain, introduce rifles. The oldest preserved rifle AFAIR dates from 1494.

Really interesting would be introducing differentiated max ranges for ranged weapons, making the rifle a most coveted item.
But that`s something for Armagan&Co to work out, I believe.

And once again, congrats to beautiful mod!

Regards, Oldtimer

But, firearms did eventualy make armor obsolete.  I love the firearms in this mod. How awesome is it to charge with your heavy cav into a wall of lead! But those musketeers are easy pickings for you once you close in. That is why the pikeman is so important if you are fielding an infantry army. The pikes protect the muskets. Great great job on this mod. Definatly has the warhammer feel to it.

It took quite a while for firearms to make armor obsolete. Most of the gear in the mod looks like its from about 1450-1550, which gives armor almost 200 years of usefulness to go.

I didn't say armour was obsolete in the game. As luigi says, he isn't shooting for a particular period but more for the Empire army feel from the Warhammer game. I don't think that we should get into a debate about when firearms started to take hold and when armour started to really decline because neither of those come into play in this mod. It is just a great mod with a wonderful feel to it that doesn't shoot for any particular time period. Well done luigi.
