Apart from it looking daft, of course. But archers would be pretty pleased I'd imagine!
The next request would be to add arrow blocking for dual wield. Why stop on dual wield as there is already a perk for 2h, let's expand it to this:

Trident&Net is definitly dual wielding, and it was a fighting style (retiarius)

Gladiators. Fighting for show and fame with restricted weapon and armor choices to make fights interesting.

Dual wielding is a meme that is practically never used.
Ask anyone into historical fencing/fighting - there just isn't enough benefit to fighting with two weapons, you can't attack with both at once
 
I like schola gladiatora for my historical weapon fix .It's only an opinion, ofc. But this guy spends a lot time researching and actually training and performing historical fighting styles.

To sum the video up. It was done, though primarily not on the battlefield. (needed too much training to be effective/was more or a 1v1 fighting style) In the far east however there is clear proof it was also considered a valid battlefield choice (dominantly in japan/malaysia). Interstingly, especially in Japan the use of a shield wasn't very common.

The point is that many different things where done and tried, what is common is what worked, what is less common is what worked with enough training and clear advantage but was less "efficient", what has barely any historical evidence or occurance is what most likely had little to no practical application at all. Like there where large bows sprung with legs, not only in China, but is it something that should be added just because it "sounds cool"?

And when it's about not so historical or what, then they saying that's not historical, not realistic or not practical. It's ironic.

Anyway, I think dual wielding woulod be fun. This game is pretty close to hictorical accuracy and realism or pracatical-ness. But, not all things in this game bind by that too.
 
+1 , would love to be able to dual easiest way to do it for devs is (just make so swords can be wielded as shields type. .)
Right click to block
Right click+Left Click to hit with left sword.
Left Click to hit with right sword.
Or adding a subtle combo system, perhaps?

The thing is, you can say the same about thousand of other things. There are many things that could be fun, there are many things which woudn't even raise the debate about historical accuracy or practicality. It's possible to add content that doesn't require any changes in the core of the game or improve things which already exist. We rather see that happen than addition of something that by virtue of balancing would be either pointless or a sidegrade of 2h weapons.
 
i would rather have them fix the game first aswell than adding something that might never get balanced

even more diplomacy would be more fun than dual

First, the musket. If someone thought they weren't going to be in the warband, they were normal. But in 2, it's not just the musket category, it's also the item category that includes handguns and rifles, even if the item isn't there yet.
Second, naval warfare, if anyone had thought it would not be in the warband, he knew too little.Because of siege animation and port battle ship models.
Its will probably be in the form of DLC.
Maybe the game itself can have naval warfare?

Since they all say that dw is only because the game system to difficult to exist, rather than impossible to exist in reality.
Here is a mod site, the current mechanism class mod more, no large mod currently available (Lord of the rings mod soon), you can also wait for dw mod to appear.
I will be looking forward to mb2's workshop in steam.

Yes, that's what he said, but there aren't any hot weapons items, I guess there's going to be a world war I DLC or a national war of independence or something like that.
They gonna make something that uses both melee and range fight
