Dual wield!

In rl it only provides disadvantages. If it got implementet realistically it would just be useless and noone would use it, so there is no point in doing that. So they would have to make it like in other games, but that would lead to unfair and unrealistic advantages.
I see people use disadvantageous equipment for style all the time. Overall, i agree that it's inferior to say sword and shield, but why should we really care ?

Good implementation would be directional blocking (with either weapon, so it's main bonus is that you always have weapon nearly for faster block), and X button for switching main hand.
Maybe, just maybe, bit faster attacks if no switching main hands, as you can get either hand in attack stance.
Barely better than using just one handed weapon, but you earn style points.

But more than 1h weapon +1 h weapon i'd like to see 1h weapon + off-hand pistol for warhammer 40k mod.

I'm OK with never getting duel wielding in the game. It's a cool little niche thing that a handful of dedicaded martial artists could train themselves to do but it was pretty gimmicky and not really all that effective as a fighting technique and I can't see what it would actually add to the game in any way.

Now with that said, there are certain sword-and-dagger techniques that were more popular that might be interesting to work into the game, but this is really the wrong era for them.

And then there's Sturgian's level 26 half-naked wolf-skin berserker, which is totally cool.

Knights duel wielding ??? I've heard it all now
Why the hell would knight use that on horseback or on foot
Swords were used by knights mostly as a backup weapon if their main weapon (the lance) broke (yes that did happen) or if they somehow dropped it.
Why use two maces when you can use a shield as yes you may have more chance of killing your opponent with two weapons... Oh wait the person your trying to kill you most likely has a shield and if they are competent in using said shield which were not very hard to use then good luck getting around that shield
On horseback if you were duel wielding then your a dead man as soon as the melee starts you will be at a range disadvantage than another Knight that was using a lance and Shield and you have no way of blocking that lance and armour even plate armour would not save you
Let's say you were in real good plate armour on foot and you fought an opponent with a mace and a shield good luck getting past that shield and then oh look he's just knocked you out by feinting and then striking you and even with plate armour that will still hurt a lot
Most of the sources are from duels and tournaments and such not battles so if they were even able to somehow implement it in the game then it should be strictly for tournaments and even then it was rare and only in the 16th-17th century when plate armour was very common
And as for that person who said a viking would do it while raiding a villiage no armor wasn't that good back (mail was just as expensive then as plate was when it became a thing) then and a peasant with a spear which is also a relatively easy weapon to use would just stab you in the eye and vikings used the shield a lot as did pretty much everyone in that time period unless you were an archer

I hope they will make dual wield as a mod or dlc, if it is imbalance, just tick it off, simple. Tons of games have dual wield, simply because its fun.

There is no point to argue about history tbh. Even if it is historically wrong, this game has a huge mod cult, many fantasy mods are underway, like lotr. Don't even have an option to use dual wield is a big meh.

How hard is it to code that feature into the game is the big question here. Currently we have banner that equip on offhand, so maybe you can replace banner mesh with weapon mesh but thats it, it only function as decoration, and drop to the ground the moment you change weapon.

tl;dr: create it as a mod/dlc, don't like it, don't tick it on, everyone happy.

However, this game has a group of level 26 half-naked wolf-skin 2h warriors running in groups in a field full of archers, so this is completely divorced from reality, if heavy dw warriors don't make more sense than this, that says dw is not allowed in this game that's double standard.
Unless the update gets these Sturgian senior idiots dressed up, even light armour is better than no armour!

Well... falxmen were depicted on Trajan's column to be just that, running bare chested at the enemy with two handed war scyte/sickles... it is believed they were religion crazed...

As for berserkers with 2 handed axes... I think this is a case of artistic liberty... but then again, shroom someone enough and you can get him to believe he's Thor incarnate ) so it's not out of the realm of possibility

Yeah, after all, in the game, nothing is impossible.

Then again:
Úlfhéðnar – wolf warriors
Wolf warriors appear among the legends of the Indo-Europeans, Turks, Mongols, and Native American cultures.[17] The Germanic wolf-warriors have left their trace through shields and standards that were captured by the Romans and displayed in the armilustrium in Rome.[18] [19]

The frenzy warriors wearing the skins of wolves were called Úlfhéðnar ("wolf coat"; singular Úlfheðinn), another term associated with berserkers, mentioned in the Vatnsdæla saga, the Haraldskvæði and the Völsunga saga. They were said to wear the pelt of a wolf when they entered battle.[19][20] Úlfhéðnar are sometimes described as Odin's special warriors: "[Odin's] men went without their mailcoats and were mad as hounds or wolves, bit their shields...they slew men, but neither fire nor iron had effect upon them. This is called 'going berserk'."[13]:132 In addition, the helm-plate press from Torslunda depicts...a scene of Odin with a berserker with a wolf pelt and a spear as distinguishing features: “a wolf skinned warrior with the apparently one-eyed dancer in the bird-horned helm, which is generally interpreted as showing a scene indicative of a relationship between berserkgang ... and the god Odin”.

It would be nice to have it implemented for some mods later, but as a native game feature... idk.

I mean, in this game, it's not impossible, you can make up a story if you want to.
And this compares to Mars.

I'm trying to mod the banner slot as offhand weapon but end up making it become a polearm instead.
Funny thing about this is it kind of works as a 5th weapon, I can equip banner polearm, sword, javelin, 2 shields (lol its silly, yes, but so fun).
Its so epic to sweep enemy with the banner lol, I'm a true bannerlord now.

There's actually a historical example of that kind of berzerker though. Example: The one dude at the Battle of Stamford Bridge that held Harald Godwinson's army at bay all by himself for a significant period of time and let Harold Hardradda get his act together after Godwinson caught him with his proverbial pants down

Yeah, the viking at standford bridge is one of the biggest badasses in history, but he wasn't naked he was fully armored. It was Harold's Hardradda's army that was still naked, so this guy tried to hold them off while his army got suited up if i am not mistaken.

I thought I read that the guy himself wasn't suited up either, and did a lot of his holding off by sheer intimidation. After the first two attempts went poorly no one wanted to be next.

Nah, they were braver than that, they kept fighting him he just kept slaying them left and right; when some slick soldier got in a barrel and drifted under the bridge and speared him in the crotch. He probably killed anywhere from 40-100 dudes on that bridge as he stalled them by fighting not stop, not just intimidation alone.

This is the only way I'd like to see it done even though it really doesn't match the setting, anything else is ridiculous.
