Dual boot failure?

Users who are viewing this thread

So I decided to install Windows 7 rc on my comp. Since I have two hard drives, I installed it on D (C was the other one) and thought that everything would work fine. After installation of Windows 7, comp restarted and everything went fine. Then I thought that ill check if I can now dual boot Windows xp. So I restarted but no dual boot option came. Again, I restarted but this time I pressed F8 but still no dual boot option in there. So, have I messed up the whole thing and now have Windows 7 only?

Generally when you have two drives, one is marked as the "master" and the other is the "slave". The master drive is the one that boots up the computer, while the slave is used for storage. If you want to be able to boot from both, then you have to make sure that both drives are set as "master". You can do this by adjusting the pin settings on your physical hard drive, but you might have to look up how to do this first based on your model.

EDIT: Also forgot to mention that you might not be able to set up dual master drives, depending on your configuration.

Saw the word "Dual" and figured it had something to with fighting, somehow I had an image of a nord wielding 2 boots kicking people around

 anyways offtopic, Windows 7 is pretty nice. Works fine on this computer even though I havent yet got my wireless internet card working... Well actually microsoft sent some drivers to me so I guess I could try them and see what happens  Some games work fine too (havent tested all of my games yet), in low fps though. Example css: CSS in  Xp = 70-110 fps on this comp. CSS on Windows 7 = 40-20 fps on this comp.
So the fps drop is pretty big
