Dropping weapons during battle

The topic pretty much tells the story. So I think it would be option to be able to drop your weapons/shields during battle. Drop all your gear to escape (on foot) or drop your great lance when going from mounted to nonmounted combat.

I definetely think you shouldn't be able to swith in to other weapons while having a great lance in your hands without dropping it. It is pretty impossible to sheathe in a reasonable amount of time, in a way that it is not in your way while trying to battle with, say, a sword and a shield.

I totally agree. It just adds to the realism factor. Knights usually dropped their lances after the charge anyway, and if they needed another one they had them back at the tents. I also like the idea of being able to pick up weapons off the battlefield. Probably not armour, because that'd take ages to strip realistically, but surely a sword or shield, should you need one.

I also think it would be cool to go through looting equipment after a fight, or atleast be able to pick your share and then have the rest divided up amongst the band. I'd like to see my guys wearing what they actually picked up, rather than magically spawning heraldic armour.

I second that. It tends to be downright frustrating when you've run out of javelins and see plenty stuck in the ground while not being able to pick them up. The same goes with shields.

I don't know how hard this would be to include codewise but it would really feel natural to be able to go near a shield/javelin/arrow, press 'f' to pick it up and ride to the sunset with a happy smile on your face.

Stuff like javs and arrows would probly be all bent up and maybe even useless after being thrown. I think they should automatically become bent, cracked whatever and suffer a stat loss.
