No, her waist. It is there so I can see where the waist is, because those Empire Dresses are kinda misleading in that respect.

You've got the simple-pencil style I love! Eeeeergh! Give me your skills! I haven't been able to put anything to paper in weeks, if not months.
One thing on the private though - I believe his pants should not be tucked in those gaiters, but left to hang freely. That's the way re-enactors wear it, anyway.
Draw an militiaman! Half of the Dutch army was militia during the 100 days.

Not quite Napoleonic, but he liked to picture himself as the Napoleon if the west. And yes, his uniform is kinda Napoleonic.

I wish I could draw horses like you.
LOL, this is actually the first time I draw a horse remotely proper.
And I drawed right from a reference (this one was quite helpful), while still managing to get the proportions wrong.
But thank you! I don't like drawing horses a lot; They are harder to get right than women.
