Drastic FPS drop overnight

As in title, yesterday everything was great, I quit the game, turned off pc, went to sleep.
Today the game seems to have 5 fps at most and it's not only after i load up the game, but the low fps can be felt in the main menu already.

I have no idea what to do and what might have caused it

Did you test your machine in other titles? If it performs well in other games it may be the latest patch that is causing this issue.

Just checked and other games are working fine

Guess I'll try the good, old reinstall method

I suggest you to verify the game files before reinstalling.

Loads of people on steam reporting the same issue. It’s patch related I think

I had exactly the same issue, except I could play the game while 1.0.2 installed. I went to eat something, shut the PC before hands, and when I started it again and launch the game, boom. FPS drop even at main menu.

Verifying game files did not solve the problem.

So I checked in game settings and saw that Options/Performance/Estimated GPU Memory Usage and it reads there is maximum 128 MB which should not be correct.

Go to video settings and choose your dedicated video card. Sometimes, the game resets your graphic card choice after updates.

Has it switched to your integrated GPU? It does this after most patches. That's what caused the issue for me. First tab on the options menu.

Check your Graph Card. It prefers to use Intel instead of NVIDIA, sometimes. Change it to NVIDIA, then restart the game. Reinstall is not required.

Yeah you guys are right, it did switch to inegrated GPU

So for future people with the same problem here's the solution
Options > Video > Selected Adapter and choose the right one (for me it was from Intel to Nvidia)
