Dragon Age Mod

Users who are viewing this thread

Hey, all.

I'm not sure if this goes in this forum, but I read the rules and I don't think it goes against them, so here goes:

I've been playing M&B and M&B Warband practically since release and have loved the game and the extent to which it can be modded.

Recently I have been getting used to making mods in M&B Warband because I wanted to make a Dragon Age mod.

I've come to realize that it involves much more work than I can do alone in a reasonable time-span.

I post this because I would be willing to help make this mod, but would need other people (and some who know more about texturing and animating etc. than me) in order to create it, since I can't possibly do everything as I have some real life commitments. I am best at using Python at the moment.

I know that at least a few people have posted ideas for a Dragon Age mod in the suggestions thread, but I figured that if the community (or part of it) got together and made this mod, it could be something really cool.

He said he's best at python coding.

I for one wouldn't help you, no offence, but a Dragon Age mod aint really the type of thing I'd be willing to make.

your avatar scares me

anyway do you have any skills in modding

I started using Python about 3 weeks ago. I've done the documentation tutorial and have made some small time modifications to the game. I can help, but I definitely can't do everything.

yeah i just noticed you said that i kinda quickly read without looking at it fully

Interesting.

If this gets off the ground (which depends on either you getting help or learning to do everything by yourself), I'd like to see where it goes...

You'd have to make some pretty heavy adaptations to how the game works, though, and make a storyline of course (Storyline seems like it wouldbe important in a Dragon Age mod).

a dragon age mod sounds like a great idea, unfortunately i have no skillz  in modding so i wouldn't be able to help you

I'd love to make this mod, but definitely can't do it alone. = /

All the people that say they'd love to help but don't have any skills should maybe consider getting said skills.

Not directed at anyone in particular but in any "I'd like to start a mod" thread I see people like that, and I always think that maybe if they picked up a tutorial or two in the forge and started learning, they could actually contribute to the ideas they like instead of wishing they get made.

That is of course assuming they're not just saying it.

Just a few thoughts...

I have lots of ideas about the mod, and am working currently on the map, but it's proving to be far more difficult than I expected.

Essentially:

I intended for this to be Ferelden-only at the moment, because we simply don't know enough (armor, weapons, building style, etc) about the other countries to do the entire map of Thedas to the level I'd like.

This a Dragon Age mod would have a TON of potential and that is something I like.
