Here's the download for my latest release.  Hope y'all enjoy it!

Features

-There is a large map of Britain and Ireland roughly 1.3 times the size of native

-Archers in melee arena spawn with an extra club for fighting.

-15+ new horses, and lots of new items, including Roman, Celtic, and Saxon armors, Celtic body dyes and Roman, Saxon, and Celtic swords, shields and weapons.

-All previous items have had stats modified to do slightly more damage

-A bunch of gameplay tweaks from HokieBT and TheMageLord

-A modified version of formations has been implemented
FORMATIONS
I think it should be "k" to form wedge, "p" for line, "j" for ranks and "u" to disassemble.  I also believe there is a unique archer formation, but I'm not sure what button to press when you have archers selected.

-A slightly changed hunting mod has been added

-An improved type of autoloot has been incorporated

-11 new factions, including the Romano-British, the Romans, the Pendragon, the Picts, three Irish factions, a Cornish faction, Saxons, some Northumbrians and one other minor faction.

-Large new troop trees for each one.

-minamalist HUD has been implemented, so now there is a borderless healthbar, critical shield and smaller reticules.

-Some other things I can't be bothered to remember.

-New animations from MAXHARDMAN

-companions have been redone and no longer argue, though their dialogue remains unchanged.

-new face textures

-Custom battles.  For those too lazy to build an army themselves and scour the countryside looking for enemies.

Support the mod!

You're both wrong!  It's actually a modified s.  The top line that is parallel to the bottom is an add on from paint.

Dang, you got us, and just one little thing, didn't my idol, Ruthven, work on the mod as well? Because I didn't see his name in there.

He did give me a few pointers, but nothing much.  In fact, I can't really think of anything he did do at the moment.  And he shouldn't be your idol.  In real life he makes a bunch of bad yo' mama jokes.

Yeah, the original idea was to work together a little more, but Rowan managed perfectly fine on his own and I'm a laze arse.

Though he did copy the textures from my mod... Which made my right pissed off, because when I started up ADOE I saw "Fury of Odin" or "Roots of Yggdrassil" in the background, which, IMO, looked unprofessional and may have been confusing to some slower gents.

And hey, I only said those to mamma jokes for one day because I was bored.

But actually, Dudro helped me a lot more than I helped him. That being said, I recall it was me who pointed him towards modding. However, it was him who pointed me towards M&B. Hmm...

when I came here and read the title, I thought of "is this a different mod that was made by the makers of "Eag;e and the Radiant Cross" and when I  read the features, and heard it was based in our world during the dark ages, it wasn't really what I thought it was. I'm going to try this mod out, but from what I am expected is something different in this mod to stand out on the other mods like custom settlements and sword of democles.

Hey, I think that was a very nice compliment.  Good for you, you make me happy!

I was thinking that "this is just another historical mod", I was tired of such things already, I want new features and unique themes (like different game in Expanded gameplay or unique atmosphere in Star Wars; didn't mean to advertise). So I already gave up and decided to check features, and things like custom formations AND hunting mod AND kingdom management AND 11 factions AND various tweaks (I should check it, in case you lie  joke) immediately drew my attention. Please add more features as you expand and I will thank you again and again and contribute models .

Good luck with your mod, I am trying it now.

I just registered to comment on this mod. I have been trying mods from here for awhile but just had nothing to say... I had not seen this mod... I have not played it yet, just downloaded and I am looking forward to an evening with it once I appease the wife..

anyways...

From the old thread I am lead to believe this is based on Jack Whyte's books? I have read all of them a few times over.. REALLY looking forward to this. Thank you!!

Skipping through your post, all I got was you were going to use this mod to pleasure your wife this evening and you believe in Jack Whyte's books.

Reading it more thoroughly provided a much less amusing read, I regret to say.

ROFL sorry to disappoint

Having taken a quick look inside the game I obviously found it is indeed based on Whyte's books  All looks good so far. If I had one constructive criticism from the brief look.. people like Merlyn should probably be clean-shaven. He made much of this in his narration and how being clean-shaven was a very Roman/Camulodian trait. VERY small detail though. Looking forward to spending alot of time with this mod.

Yes, that's one thing I still have to do.  Change troop and faction faces.  I did saxon/dane, and Roman/Camulodian faces, but not all the other ones.

So you've read them all over a couple times?  So have I! Probably 3-4 times, maybe random books a few times too.  I loved them.

Excuse me from sounding like a girl.

LOL np, yeah I have read the whole series probably 3 times, and Uther probably 5. Met Jack Whyte at a book signing in Vancouver as well.

I played it a bit more and like it so far, of course there is still work needed (alot of Caladria based text popping up etc) but very nice so far. I will put up some suggestions when I get time to think about it more but the few that struck me right away...

I think it would be better to make Ravenglass it's own faction. The part of Southern Ireland that is part of the Camulod Allies faction I would include into the Gaels faction, since in the books the Gaels (Scotii) from Eire were the ones Camulod allied with, and who later emmigrated to Western Hibernia (Scotland). Although Ravenglass allied with Camulod they had no connection to Eire or the MacAthol clan.

Camulod itself really came into being because of the withdrawl of the Roman Army from Britain. I think having a WRE faction is inappropriate. You also have them placed in the Kent area of Britain which was historically the Saxon Shore. I would remove that faction. Northumbria I would have as a more British based society, with the ability to recruit Danish mercenaries. Where you now have the Saxons I would place a "raiding" Danish faction (or maybe a small Angles faction?), and where you currently have the WRE in Kent, I would place the Saxons. In my opinion that would put it more in line with the story as much as can be accomplished in the confines of the game.

The one other thing I noticed was a lack of Tir Manha for the Pendragon, as their often talked about "Capitol" for lack of a better word, I was a bit surprised by that.

Anyways, take any of my suggestions with a grain of salt, I tend to ramble. Thanks for the mod

The mod is good, however it still feels like it's native even with that kingdom management that I have not yet down. I got a suggestion, can you make some customized quests. It will be nice if combat was a little faster like in Enhanced Gameplay III and we got a battlemap so I can find where those loose enemies are at.

What do you call "battlemap"? If you mean a minimap with orders, it's  feature of native M&B. Also Dudro, don't you want to post my sig in your first post? I could do more.

If you have played the mod of Light and Darkness, and press the M button during a battle, you got yourself a battlemap that shows your troops location and their troops location, I use the battlemap to see where they located at without running across the whole map to find the enemies location. The battle map is something what Dynasty Warriors has, and it's a radar of the map to show key event triggers, reinforcements and general locations along with the masses of soldiers location. I want something like this so I don't have no difficulties on finding my enemy without trying to follow my units to show me the way. It's a good handy feature to use. Also  very useful when trying to find the soldiers scatter across the map when the enemy flee in terror and have a hard time finding them all. In Light and Darkness after the enemy morale is broken and 1/4 of the troops still remain, I get a pop up that they surrender and give the choice to take them as prisoners and end the match or slaughter them all.

Why don't you use commands screen for it? It has a map where you can click to issue orders and it shows friends/allies/foes as green/blue/red dots and you as a dot with a pointer. It's not from some mod, it's in ANY mod, because it comes from vanilla.
