"Double posting"

I got a 2 point warning for "double posting". I have posted in this forum for 8 years and never got a reprimand for this. I think what we got here is some forum moderator -------you know who you are--- who doesn't like dissenting voices to modern feminist egalitarianism. I didn't double post anything. I responded to each post almost in paragraphs, this is complete utter nonsense and I am calling it out. I love how this is a private message that I am unable to respond to, that's so pathetic. There are people in that thread insulting me, did they get an infraction? Nope... so that's TW's forum policy: -2 points for spam (my opinions) but insults are free at leisure.

Just reply to one post.
Sometimes people make multiple posts and you can accidentally reply to both.
But after 8 years should know better than to double post

I did, it's hard to navigate it all when 50 people are responding. I certainly did not intentionally do anything, which should never merit an infraction. The thread that this took place in gives me all the clues I need to understand why this happened.

I was warned to not multi-post. I'm not 100% sure if i did back to back post but i know i too have had recent post in thread stating concerns, issues, or concerns with BL. I've seen you and myself post with similar viewpoints on the current state of BL so i felt a need to post in this thread. Not going to say its was 100% that because idk if two post in one thread were back to back, or that the time i replied was multi-posting like spam. I'll try to keep a eye on my post from here on but still feel this is kinda dumb thing to worry about out of all the things posted here.

Responding to each post is not double posting. I have been doing this for eight years. Now I get an infraction in a political thread where that same mod has been openly biased in similar threads to traditional views of history -you know actual history. Is quite obvious, we have a progressive mod who gets upset when people post about reality. It's bogus, that is not a mod's job. impartiality is a mod's job... Yes, double posting... no good, but insults are fine. Good grief. Double posting is spamming, anyone in that thread could easily see that was not the case, a mistake could have taken place on my behalf it was a long conversation with many posts, still this is ridiculous. That's not double posting, that's somebody who doesn't like what you have to say.

Stupid, pointless, and annoying messages (spam) can clog up the forum, making relevant and accurate information harder to find. The definition of spam includes, but is not limited to, the following actions:

• Double-posting/Duplicate Threads — If you wish to contribute further to a conversation, and yours was the last post in the thread, please edit your last post instead of creating a new one. Likewise, if a topic is already being discussed, please use the existing thread rather than creating duplicate threads.
• Derailing a thread's topic.
• Bumping a thread.
• Quote pyramids — Quotes embedded within quotes, which serve no purpose.
• Making non-constructive posts.
• Abusing the ‘Report’ feature.
• Disruptive or persistently argumentative behaviour.
• Using the wrong language — Language boards are created for users of shared languages to come together and discuss the games without the need for conversing in English. Posting in said boards in anything other than the intended language is considered a form of spam.

As you can see, it is clearly stated in the forum rules and code of conduct that double-posting is a no-no, thus I am pretty sure that the topic you were warned for replying on had no relevance in the matter. There was nothing political or personal for the warning.

Well i just double posted in a thread i noticed something wrong in my post and wanted to add something i am still pretty sure i clicked edit but ended up with two posts.
I did appologise anyway sometimes s**t happens thats life wanna give me two points for a genuine error ?

Yes, I believe I was the one who sent you that. It wasn't an actual warning, it was just a notification alert that moderators are able to send when editing a user's posts. I simply merged your multiposts and sent you a notification explaining why. It had nothing to do with the content of your messages. I merge every multipost I come across and send the same alert to each user.

No, because the rules don't state that every bit of spam will result in warnings being handed out. You seem to have misinterpreted them. We, of course, handle everything on a case-by-case basis to keep it fair. Multiposts, for example, aren't treated as harshly as someone intentionally spamming a thread, and if a user writes in a different language in an English board, their post may simply be deleted or moved with a notification explaining why. Sometimes people just don't realise that they're doing something wrong, or that they're able to edit their previous messages. Warnings typically start getting handed out when a user frequently posts spam or ignores moderators, not just when they make a simple mistake. In this case, I wasn't the one that warned stevehoos, so I don't know the specifics of the situation.

Edit: Just to be clear, there's a difference between a warning and a notification. Warnings are accompanied by warning points that may result in mutes when reaching certain thresholds, while a notification alert is just a message in your inbox.

Ok I see that. I noticed no negative points but viewed the message as a warning. My apologies. I wasn't aware of the issue so seeing the message in my notifications was shocking to me. Thank you for the clarification on my issue.

in addition to some insults being removed and warned for, you and several others had multiposts removed. you in particular double posted like six different times in one thread, which is pretty severe as multiposting goes.

nothing strange, dramatic, or political there.

also i studied history so i'll thank you kindly for laying off the personal attacks.
