Douar-An-Enez Old Captain bug

After speaking to Beda at the Boar Grove I was not attacked by Sven's men, as I've read happened to some other players.  At Bebbanburh after visiting Boar Grove, I cannot progress in dialogue with the Old Sea Captain, preventing me from advancing in the story.

It seems like not getting attacked by Sven's men screws everything up. I doubt there is much to be done if you are already past it

From what I can tell, the Sven attack simply isn't occuring on the West Seaxe side, only on the Denmark side.

Do you mean saves from before the hotfix?

As I am hearing it works for some on the danish side. (Im on the Danish)

Happened to me as well. Would kinda suck if I had to start all over to be able to progress with the story. Is there any possible fix?

I really hope it can be fixed in a way that we don't need to start over or, if we're lucky enough, go back to a much older save

Fixed in patch, but you need to load savegame before beda conversation.

Well, you can load this mission from a dev cheat. In camp menu - Cheats you will a menu that active quest previus Douar (both sides) use this, choosing your side. Then, back to Boar grove. In this way you dont lose oyur savegame and mission. However, it is good idea have different savegames

I'm still having issues with the solution you posted, Idibil.  After using the fix you suggested, I cannot leave after talking to Beda, getting the message "Something is moving in the undergrowth..." however I am not attacked either.  I've searched the area for enemies and tried using the cheat to knock out any enemy, but nothing is working and I still get the message and cannot leave.

Could you re-try mission? What Beda's conversation options you choosed?

I was able to return to Boar Grove.  When talking to Beda, I was given the option to let him rejoin my party as if I dismissed him or not.  I was never attacked.  I tried both dialogue options.

The same happens to me.
One dialogue option is to take him back into your company, the other to keep him dismissed. With neither option I get attacked.

I am still unable to progress in the most recent beta patch.

After trying talking to the Old Sea Captain I used Idibil's cheatmenu work around and tried returning to Boar Grove but was unable to enter the area again.  I returned to the Old Sea Captain again and still was unable to progress.

Are there plans to fix this or should I abandon this character?

If you are using cheat menu, you need to wait until messenger come you. This should reset mission. However, you need to remove Beda of your party (use cheat). However, the best is load an old savegame before messenger with Beda's invitation come.
