I like to random, it's really good to understand mechanically how all the heroes work, both to know what to do in synergy with your team or to counter the enemies.
Test some builds and playstyles in bot matches to get a grasp of the hero you're uncertain about playing in a pub match.

I can't tell you how many times I set up bot games and hit random while I was learning the heroes. I still use bot games to test silly things like carry Treant Protector or Omniknight (omni is a badass, btw). It's also useful to learn about certain mechanics like pulling lanes and stacking camps.

Omni is always hillarious fun. When I end up stuck supporting (It's just something I'm not great at - I have difficulty harassing without attracting creeps, judging XP range, stacking and pulling is really iffy for me), Omni is one of the old reliables, along with BH and KotL.
And yes, I am something like 2.5(?)k MMR. I deal. :3

My main issue with new BS is that he falls off a lot more towards the end of the game, and his silence is now purgeable. With the increased popularity of Euls, it's really affected how useful I found it.
That, and new Rupture is pretty naff, imo. Damage is too low until Lvl 2. Overall, I feel he really needs a second hero present for ganks, which is against how I tended to play him.

He doesn't rely so much on Rupture now, and can be way more effective in coordinated ganks.
Good players will always carry TPs anyways, they are still the best counter to a lone Bloodseeker without a bash/active disable item.
Applying Bloodrage in someone when ganking with that 40% damage amplification is really good when there's more than one damage source, specially burst damage spells.
That pure damage in a huge AoE followed by a long ass silence is really good if it lands too, that makes him not useless in teamfights anymore.

Bloodrage can be used for so many purposes: healing yourself, healing allies, boosting damage for when it counts (ie. ganking lone heroes, hitting towers). It also makes farming and gaining lost health ridiculously easy.

Rupture is still pretty deadly IMHO. Half of the time you won't even be needing it, though the psychological effect it can have on other players is a nice bonus.

BS' passive works well with anyone that has global presence like Nature's Prophet, Invoker, Io + anybody, Zeus, etc. It all means nothing if your teammates aren't paying attention, though.
Fair enough, but I had one match where one of my teammates was a BS who left early due to (I presume) connection problems.
His lifeless husk ended up contributing anyway by sitting still at the base, especially since we were up against a Riki. I thought that was pretty cool.

You and I both. I don't actually know how bad I am though as I don't play Ranked.

Everything I've seen about ranked implies it's even more of a toxic ****hole than regular games, so I'll stick to playing for fun rather than e-numbers.
