Srsly, are these guys better than noldor rangers? I mean their previous version is weak, but they do have noldor bows, wich gives them an edge, but doomguides are a dominating force both in ranged and in melee, they simply own anything thrown at them

I defeated the three seer army and got like 100 seer favourite prisoners, so out of fun, i recruited like 80 or 90 of them, now im upgrading them to doomguides, and man, are they a killing machine
 
They are certainly among the best troops available in PoP. The only downside is that you can get them only once or twice in your whole game. A dying Doomguide sends me crying :wink: Been thinking about making them an upgrade option from maiden adventurers (they should level up slowly enough to make this a non-gamebreaking change).

 
Easily my favorite unit. Unbeatable on the open field. The thing is, you have to be very careful with their micromanagement. For instance, never put them in the front lines during a siege; their lack of shield is a serious flaw. If you follow the attrition tactics during sieges, then put several of them on the front line, but always mix them with a more stalwart unit, such as the Hero Adventurers (the best all-around unit in the game), in case the defenders sally forth. In case of an all-out assault on the enemy fiefs, better to leave them outside the walls to snipe the defenders.
 
Thing I really like about them is the maces.  LOTS of prisoners after a battle, unlike with the Noldor. 
 
Not so cool in siege offense, no shields, but they are quite the hitters in open field. I gathered around 160 of them and qonquered 2 kingdoms with their help, but hero adventureres just do the same job nearly as good. They are both level 30->60 but adventurers are easier to get.
 
but i think doomies get better armor and noldor bows ( A LOT better than adventurers)

and in offense i merely use them as normal archers so they are effective in every field of battle, for me at least

it does hurt to lose even 1 of them... but hey when they're all out i'll use the adventurers more often,  :razz:
 
Hero Adventureres, not Adventureres. Theres not much difference between monster and super monster on the battle field. They both kill everything they are up against. I were more proud about my 100 heroes. They don't have an ugly helm, a bad horse and they have more variety.
Imo dooms are overrated. Not worth collecting them from patrols for months, though, it's interesting to have seen every strong unit in the game.
 
i dont bother collecting them from patrols, i defeated the three seers army, wich gave me tons of seer favourites (they usually fell to the horse charge a lot of times, hence they could be knocked down in 1-4 charges by the horses
